Drawing inspiration from the ancient concept of Kama which refers to the energy, desire and passion for life and the pursuit of the pleasure of the senses and aestheticism; Kama British Indian Company Kitchen & Bar is set to explode into the vibrant F&B scene with a buzz equal to its name. With over 20 years of experience in the F&B industry backing it, KAMA is forging ahead to wow the fussy local crowd with a brand new concept that promises to tantalise, reward and engage. The vibrant and dynamic F&B scene in Singapore will welcome an exciting new concept never perfected before until now. Come May 2016, an authentic yet contemporary British Indian Kitchen & Bar will be born - KAMA British Indian Company Kitchen & Bar.
Located strategically along the North Canal Road, a stone’s throw away from the heart of the business district, cash-rich but time-poor executives can nestle and revel in this new gem in the F&B scene.
It was here that our forefathers carved out a living and helped shape the foundation of modern Singapore. It was also here that our British colonial governors paved the way socially and culturally, perfecting the art of working and playing hard. In effect, our English predecessors showed us how to maintain a good work-life balance even before the phrase was invented.
KAMA passionately leverages off our rich historical foundation and expertly blends it with a superior understanding of the highest standards of culinary excellence and execution. Tapping into a wealth of experience both in the kitchen and the floor, KAMA’s team will surprise even the most discerning patron with its superb level of service and food quality.
Occupying a space that boasts of 100 years of history is slightly daunting but a very welcome challenge for KAMA’s team. Drawing inspiration from the original owners who started a humble bird’s nest trading business into a globally leading brand, KAMA hopes to emulate its predecessor’s vision, passion and drive.
Spanning a total of 2,500 square feet of historically-fuelled space, the interior design is soaked with colonial European, West Indies and Eastern European influences – an eclectic mix that blends perfectly together through the vision of the design team headed by Alessandro Lo Giudice who has led and managed Architectural and Interior Design firms in Italy and Singapore in the Residential and Hospitality sector and in the recent years was involved in the interiors of prestigious projects in Asia, China and Africa. As partner and designer of a Boutique Design Firm whose spirit is to keep things focused and discerning, he has inspired the concept of recent successful restaurants and F&B outlets in Singapore.
Guests can expect to enjoy privately intimate yet vibrant experiences at KAMA where they can either choose to mingle with familiar faces or conduct discreet meetings at their discretion – KAMA’s discerning and professional team provide the appropriate level of service and approach.
The second floor space is where the customer experience evolves into a more loungy and relaxed ambience. Replete with a tasteful blend of European design with Eastern motifs, the space is perfect for corporate networking and social gatherings. Guests can always rely on KAMA to be the place where they can even visit on their own and know they will meet like-minded people and enjoy not only great food, drinks and service but also immaculate company.
Eschewing the typical notion of Indian cuisine where the heavy, carbo-filled and rich curried offerings are the norm, KAMA’s menu will borrow the best of West and East in order to pamper our guests with just the right amount of every gastronomic element to enhance their experience.
The spice level is easily controlled as all dishes and curries are cooked ala minute.
Imagine tapas style bites that delights the palate and fills the tummy just right in order to enjoy handcrafted cocktails and the finest selection of beers, wines and whiskies.
At the end of the day, KAMA is a place for discerning lunch and cocktail meetings, post-office gatherings, romantic dates, happy hour sessions amongst friends, launch events and indulgent weekend brunches that never ends.
