Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, has launched a new Deliveroo Editions site in CT Hub 2, Lavender with seven restaurant partners.
This national roll-out of Deliveroo’s innovative delivery-only service comes one year after Deliveroo opened its first site and underlines Deliveroo’s continued successful expansion across Singapore. Deliveroo raised almost $500m in 2017, pledging rapid growth in its Editions programme, which is now taking place in Singapore and other markets around the world.
A world first for Deliveroo at the Lavender site will be the ‘click-and-collect’ function, where customers in the nearby vicinity can choose to pick up their orders directly from the site, or can order whilst at the site and enjoy their meals in the site’s dine-in space. For consumers who do, there is no delivery fee.
Deliveroo Editions is a revolutionary platform for the Singapore food industry. Editions sites host ‘super kitchens’, specially designed only for the cooking and delivery of specific cuisines. The kitchens are home to new, exciting and often totally unique restaurant brands. Deliveroo is passionate about food and wants to champion local favorites, taking them to new areas.
By being in Deliveroo’s delivery-only super kitchens, restaurants are able to expand without needing a physical presence in the area, enabling restaurants to expand more easily and at lower cost to reach new customers. Restaurants use their own expert and highly passionate chefs, just as they do in their bricks and mortar restaurants, but thanks to Deliveroo they are able to bring the same restaurant-quality dishes to more people in more areas, faster.
Motored by its world leading technology, Deliveroo uses its insights to identify cuisine gaps in the local market and predict which restaurants will succeed in a specific area. This further helps restaurants as they can expand with greater insights and therefore lower risk in addition to taking very little capital risk.

Founded six years ago at McCallum Street, homegrown brand SPRMRKT was the pioneer of multi-concept experiences in a singular space. It was the go-to place for the food- and arts- savvy cosmopolite and one which provided daily inspiration in necessary but simple ways by melding the enjoyments of dining, discovering and experiencing – a rethinking of nourishment and consumption.
SPRMRKT has relocated to the charming Bukit Timah neighbourhood at Cluny Court. At this quaint locale, SPRMRKT stays true to this philosophy of inspiring daily life through thoughtful dining (simple all-day fare accented with Southeast Asian flavours), arts and lifestyle programmes, with an introduction of a new bi-weekly activity – hands-on cooking classes conducted by Chef-Owner Joseph Yeo.
Founded by Singaporeans Sue-Shan Quek and Joseph Yeo, SPRMRKT is a unique culinary-cultural concept that merges F&B, retail and art into a single, yet multi-faceted, experience. The homegrown brand operates 3 venues for a lifestyle-oriented following and neighbouring residents. SPRMRKT (Cluny Court) focuses on simple all-day fare accented with Southeast Asian flavours. At Robertson Quay, SPRMRKT Daily is a lifestyle and dining riverside destination with casual all-day offerings and SPRMRKT Kitchen & Bar is an ideal catering and private events space dedicated to hospitality and transformative experiences. Integral to the eateries are a retail space featuring thoughtfully curated, high-quality artisanal merchandise emphasising local and regional sources, and a space for contemporary art.
Regular and new diners can expect a menu of simple all-day fare accented with Southeast Asian flavours, derived from Chef-Owner Joseph Yeo’s roots as a Singaporean with Indonesian heritage and his training in modern European cuisine.
Fuel up with a selection of SPRGRN Bowls brimming with healthful ingredients like the Acai, Pili Nuts & Overnight Oats Bowl, Asian Bean Bowl with brown rice, tempeh, French beans and tofu braised in savoury Kecap Manis and a sous vide egg, as well as the Slow-Braised Pork & Goji Berry Bowl featuring slow-braised pork with miso, bean curd skin & wolf berries.
All-day breakfast favourites such the toothsome SPRMRKT BRKFST, Oven-Baked Eggs and Avocado On Toast make a delightful meal at anytime of the day, while the quintessential eggs florentine is given a light makeover with scrumptious housemade organic quinoa cakes.
Dinner takes on a separate menu highlighting Salt-Baked Beetroot with Anchovies, Smoked Snapper slow-cooked in preserved soy bean, Slow-Roasted Soto Chicken Thigh, 600g Grilled Bone-In Ribeye with Sarawak Peppercorn sauce and Salted Egg Bernaise.
Weekend brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays.
An enticing cocktail selection has been curated for day-drinking, and more so at leisurely weekend brunch gatherings. To quench and delight is the order of the day with refreshing, tropical or piquant ingredients so there can never be “one too many”. Upping the fun factor are the Spiked Milkshakes in variations of mocha, peanut butter as well as cookies & cream, with non-alcoholic options to choose from.
Envisioned as a place for communal life, SPRMRKT is delighted to host the neighbourhood at their new series of bi-weekly hands-on cooking classes, held within the restaurant at the open-concept, ‘social kitchen’. These will be launched from June 2018 onwards.
SPRMRKT retains its thoughtfully curated, artisanal collection that emphasises local and regional producers who share their values and aspirations – often family-run with deep traditional and/or artisanal roots. Merchandise includes fresh produce, food products, beauty, wellness, household and design-related items.
The Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, a 164-year-old national monument and one of the oldest temples in Singapore, was recently re-sanctified in a consecration ceremony called the “Maha Samprokshanam” which is done once every 12 years.
Major redevelopment works at the temple, costing S$4.5 million, were recently completed.
The temple had to invite foreign experts to help in the restoration as certain specific skills were not available here. A team of 20 highly-skilled artisans, known as sthapathis, were flown in from India for the job.
In 1978, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple was declared a National Monument by the Preservation of Monuments Board. The temple also underwent major facelifts in year 1987, 1992 and 2005.
The history of Sri Srinivasa Perumal temple dates back to the late 1800s. Read more about its rich history here.
