Besides these three items, Joy Luck Teahouse also has Hong Kong Fish Balls and an array of Hong Kong-style beverages.
Located on Amoy Street, Avenue 87 is a restaurant inspired by the personal journeys of 2 Singaporean chef friends of remarkable talent and training. On offer is a Modern Asian cuisine prepared from scratch with carefully sourced regional produce.
What sets the restaurant apart is the seamless synergy of co-Chef-Founders Glen Tay and Alex Phan, and the unique brand of creativity and innovation they bring. Also special is the platform it affords to dynamic brands, producers, and talents of Singapore and the region.
Dining at Avenue 87 is a deep dive into gastronomy in which two chefs at the top of their game push each other’s boundaries to produce magic.
Avenue 87 is housed in a 2-storey heritage shophouse at 47 Amoy Street. The first level is a restaurant with open kitchen seating 24; and the upper floor is a 26-seat lounge with bar, launching in early-2021.
Chefs Glen and Alex bring to the table well-loved Asian favourites, given a creative twist using traditional and contemporary techniques. The familiar flavours of childhood, and the dishes they love to eat today, are the starting points of their innovation, the end results bringing a sense of nostalgia and comfort to the diner.
Avenue 87 serves a Modern Asian cuisine of well-known dishes transformed by the memories, travels, and professional discourse of the two chefs. Many components are prepared from scratch. The local and the artisanal are celebrated, and old and new methods explored and often combined. The results are nostalgic yet contemporary; and always comforting. The dinner tasting menu, inspired by foods that Glen and Alex loved growing up, comprises either four or six courses, with a wine pairing option specially curated by Si Hao. Glen and Alex recommend the 6-course tasting menu for an immersive gastronomic experience.
Singapore Distillery offers a range of unique gins which are distilled locally – 6 for now. So everyone will be able to find the right gin for them. It took the Singapore Distillery team many batches, over 100 test batches to get each gin to where they want them.
All of Singapore Distillery's gins are diluted to 42.5% ABV, or alcoholic strength. In their experience and the findings of many distillers worldwide, this brings out the best flavour of botanicals without having a sort of raw alcohol taste which is the case when the alcohol strength is higher. Many Gin connoisseurs say that gins with less than 42.5% ABV don’t have the flavour to stand up to tonic water or other ingredients in cocktails.
The latest newcomer to the grill scene in Singapore is Josh's Grill - a casual dining destination built on making every meal a unique feast and an affordable one without compromising on quality. Boasting a seating capacity of over 70 pax, the interior of the restaurant is spacious and caters to dining for small groups or pairs. The decor draws inspiration from a modern cowboy ranch that blends a tinge of cowboy flair with a classy feel to re-create a cosy dining environment and relaxing ambience for diners to chill over a delightful western meal.
In tandem with its slogan of “Eat Fresh, Be Happy”, only the best quality ingredients are used, from hand- selecting the perfect cut of meat to sourcing fresh seafood and poultry. With its forte in grill-cooking, all meats are cooked to order at low temperature for an hour to retain moisture then grilled to perfection. The sight of those beautiful grill marks and smoky caramelised flavour are simply irresistible and is bound to ignite your senses.
Customers can look forward to a complete grill experience with premium cuts from high graded Aussie beef meats to grilled chicken chops, grilled fish fillets, home-made pastas and more.
