In May 2018, it opened its second campus in Tampines to offer a through train pathway for families from early years to high school. Both campuses soon reached full capacity and currently have a waitlist at most levels. The Middleton brand has also expanded into Vietnam, Indonesia and China.
The third campus, Middleton West Coast, is conveniently located next to Haw Par Villa MRT station. Occupying three levels at 20 Harbour Drive, this new campus has a capacity of more than 500 students, catering to learners from Nursery 2 to Grade 5 (3 to 11 years). Fees are below $20,000 a year, excluding GST, which is far lesser than the S$2,500 average monthly fee at international schools in Singapore.
Spanning over an estimated 650 square meters, the Forest Playground, when completed, promises to bring play and fun to a different level. The playground will include numerous innovative structures for both dry and wet play, suited for children ages 3 to 12.
All the playground equipment is manufactured and designed in Europe to the highest safety and quality standards. The structures offer varying degrees of challenges and stimulation for play, thereby promoting child development in terms of their creativity, physical and social development. The playground will be installed with EPDM safety rubber flooring.

Two Cognita schools in Singapore – Australian International School (AIS) and Stamford American International School (SAIS) have collaborated and their world-class Early Learning Village boasting a 50,000 sqm campus is now open. Located at Kim Chuan Lane, the innovative new shared campus has been designed specifically for children aged 18 months to six years old and is the first in the world on this scale for Early Years education.
Among the shared facilities between the two schools in the Village are various multifunctional spaces thoughtfully designed with young children in mind, such as a 20-metre swimming pool which adapts to the competencies of the little swimmers – 10 short horizontal lanes for beginners, and four longer lanes lengthwise for more confident swimmers, and an indoor, air-conditioned gymnasium for their acclaimed SMART Steps specialist physical education classes and after-school enrichment.
Inspired by the world-famous Reggio Emilia philosophy incorporating the environment as a third teacher in its architecture, interior design and curriculum, the Village represents a revolutionary step in early childhood education where this age group is the first and only thought. The campus is designed by award-winning Bogle Architects in collaboration with Gary Moore, Professor of Environmental Behavioural studies at Sydney University, and Rosie Long, a Reggio Emilia Early Years Education specialist, to include specific architectural and design elements that elevate the early learning experience.
Each corner of the Village caters to the growing and developing child, with changing discovery spaces attached to every classroom which empower young learners to play to their strengths and interests. Their learning experience also extends beyond the classroom where they can choose from specialty co-curricular activities such as gymnastics, ballet, sports, drama and language-learning, amongst many others.
The new Outdoor Discovery Centre at their Tanjong Katong campus underlines Canadian International School’s focus on facilitating academic excellence in the Kindergarten years through play-based learning in environments that nurture creativity and exploration. Hands-on exploration in the Primary years solidifies concepts and understanding more concretely than rote learning. By the age of 10, students who have “played” in their formative years excel in creativity, intelligence, oral expression and work habits.
Their Outdoor Discovery Centre is an extension of our indoor classrooms, filled with textures, sounds and smells unique to the outdoors. There are lots of purpose-built areas for children to interact with nature and run around as well as spaces where they can withdraw and quietly reflect. Spaces include a play fort, a mud kitchen, a sound garden, a natural tunnel and grassy hill, a creative play space with loose parts, a bike track and quiet areas intentionally designed to build minds and bodies, and nurture strong connections to nature.
The Outdoor Discovery Centre features an abundance of trees, a variety of gardens, water features that include still and moving water, natural tunnels, grassy hills, a crow’s nest, a sound garden, a mud kitchen, adaptable creative play spaces, a bike and running track, and quiet areas intentionally designed to build minds and bodies, while nurturing strong connections with nature.
