Waku Ghin is back after extensive renovation works, offering the brilliance of Chef Tetsuya Wakuda over a widened repertoire that spans contemporary bar experiences, private dining and their signature Chef’s Table.
Their signature Omakase experience remains the ultimate pilgrimage for gourmands. The bespoke dining journey begins at the stylish Japanese cocktail bar helmed by their Head Bartender Kazuhiro Chii. After a tipple or two, diners can proceed to the exclusive 10-seater Chef’s Table, where a chef personally attends to each party of guests. Similar to the previous Waku Ghin, diners are treated to a sensory feast of craftsmanship on display, as they savour Waku Ghin’s seasonal menu, featuring our famed marinated botan shrimp with sea urchin and oscietria caviar, alongside seasonal delights such as the prized Western Australian pearl meat.
A selection of fresh grill items is also available as part of the enhanced Omakase menu. Diners can choose from a wider range of premium beef cuts and seafood for the day, ranging from ohmi wagyu and aburi sukiyaki, to fresh carabinero and scampi. Draw a close to the indulgent meal over intricate desserts at their private dessert room, tucked away at the back of the restaurant overlooking the expansive mall and glistening waterfront.

Nestled in the Bukit Pasoh conservation area, Clos Pasoh is a chic reimagining of the French brasserie for today’s urbane food and wine lover. Both its menu and wine list reflect current tastes for seriously good things sourced with intent and expertise presented in an unpretentious, casually sophisticated style.

Hidden away on the second floor of a heritage building built in the early shophouse style circa 1840, it is named for the clos (meaning a “walled vineyard” in French) and the pasoh (a nod to its location and the Malay name for earthen pots used to store water and rice). Every space — from the Dining Room to the Terrace, Wine & Cheese Room and Chef’s Table — cradles guests in effortless luxury that is designed to take you from tête-à-têtes and power lunches to lazy weekend brunches and lively nights on the town.

Marcy’s is a restaurant set amidst the backdrop of Duxton, a seafood bistro at heart that takes familiar ideas like tartare, raw seafood, pasta, and grilled fish, and presents them in new, satisfying ways.
Inspired by rarified worlds colliding to create a vibrant, modern institution, the bracing flavours of coastal Italy are awakened by a Latin American heartbeat to imbue familiar ingredients with a new kind of gusto. Their attention to detail in all things from the sea, flows through everything they do.

The intimate bar is open late and you can go in for just a glass of wine or a classic nightcap and a small bite should you feel like it. The adventurous will feel at home with a selection of craft spirits, cocktails and atypical snacks.
Marcy’s strives to chart the tide for restaurant culture in Singapore, with exquisite food, disarmingly relaxed service and an eclectic and atmospheric setting that all set the stage for an experience like no other.

A culture of research, experimentation, function and use are the matrixes that have always defined Stone Island: the man sportswear brand established in 1982, designed to become a symbol of extreme research on fibres and textiles, applied to an innovative design.
Season after season, it is through the study of form and the “manipulation” of the matter that Stone Island, under the Creative Direction of Carlo Rivetti, has found its own language with the aim of establishing new boundaries in the world of garment making.

The Fabulous Baker Boy’s reopening at the Aliwal Arts Centre represents “an emotional return to twin passions'' according to baker, theatre actor and owner Juwanda Hassim, who was forced to close at his previous location in the foothills of Fort Canning mid last year after the Covid circuit breaker coincided with the ending of his lease. Now he’s back bigger, better and more fabulous than before with a multi-concept, full-service bakery, patisserie, café and restaurant.
“Our new location is a combination of the two great passions in my life,” said Juwanda. “Food and the arts. I love entertaining on stage and at home and I am thrilled to open The Fabulous Baker Boy at the Aliwal Arts Centre.”

Located on the waters with spectacular views of Marina Bay, Kinki Restaurant + Bar starts a new chapter.
Ten years on, the sumo is now a geisha. Following a revamp, this urban Japanese dining concept now exudes a countercultural vibe and a reimagined experience, lifestyle and attitude.
Inspired by the antics of a rule-bending geisha, Kinki seeks to offer the legendary hospitality of the traditional geisha while allowing diners to let their hair down, all the while enjoying creative food and drink. Kinki does this with popular Japanese comfort foods reinvented into addictive new classics; and a bar list of liquids from East and West, including unique cocktails built on foundational cocktail-making techniques woven with Asian influences in surprising and unexpected ways. Kinki engages the senses with two levels of space – a restaurant and an al fresco rooftop bar. Diners socialise and unwind amidst immersive graffiti-style artworks by leading local artists evoking an edgy yet sophisticated ambience. Kinki fuses tradition and unconventionality for a new way of living; and wants you along for the ride.
Kinki occupies the two levels at Customs House, a conserved building built in the 1960s for the Singapore Customs Police. Enter the lift whose doors and walls are covered in various retro Japanese prints stitched into a dizzying collage. Designed by local design studio, Punkt Creative, the prints evokes Kintsugi, the old Japanese art of mending broken pottery by joining the fragments with capillaries of gold. With their design, it begins your escape from the everyday.

The large-scale, dual-mode Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant (KMEDP) is the first of its kind in Singapore, with an innovative design situating treatment equipment completely underground and featuring a lush green rooftop for community recreation.
Depending on the weather, the plant can treat both sea water and fresh water drawn from the Marina Reservoir, strengthening the resilience of Singapore's water supply in the face of climate change.
Seamlessly integrated with the surrounding greenery, KMEDP features nearly 20,000 square metres of open green rooftop space for community activity and recreation. The plant’s treatment facilities are situated underground, viewable via a private viewing gallery. For its outstanding design features and exceptional Active, Beautiful, Clean (ABC) standards, KMEDP became the first industrial plant in Singapore to be awarded the ABC Waters Certification (Gold) by PUB in October 2019.
KMEDP is one of the first infrastructure projects in Singapore to employ 3D, 4D and 6D Building Integrated Management (BIM) systems. This comprehensive integrated model enhances collaboration among the developer, designer, consultant, suppliers and sub-contractors by allowing them to visualise their plans via 3D modelling.
KMEDP is also the first desalination plant in Singapore to feature the energy-efficient direct coupling of the ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems, where water filtered from the upstream UF process is fed directly to the downstream RO process, eliminating intermediate break tanks and pumping stages, resulting in significant cost and space saving, and makes the process up to 15% more energy-efficient.

Yoga Movement pushes boundaries with its new design-centric flagship studio on Handy Road. Sitting at the intersection of culture, fitness, food and music, there’s no such thing as resting on your laurels for this almost-decade young company.
The studio channels YM’s signature good vibes, warmth of service and sense of community that loyal members know and love, all across a massive 6,000 sqft space. The new flagship studio ups the ante with stunning, spacious interiors featuring 7-metre-high ceilings, finishings of warm wood and splashes of terrazzo. Fans and neighbours will love YM’s new coffee bar and the chillout patio overlooking the bustle of Orchard Road for post-yoga hangs.
The studio offers the seven signature YM class types as well as Pop Up classes, YM’s version of themed classes. All of these classes are multi-levelled, catering to Newbies and seasoned practitioners alike. Those just starting out can join Basics to get acquainted with foundational yoga postures, while those wanting to work up a sweat can opt for the more dynamic Power Flow or one of the Hot classes. With over 80 classes weekly, the Orchard Flagship studio expects to see over 1,600 people flowing in their practice rooms and grabbing a cuppa at the Yoga Movement coffee bar week in, week out.
Intentional design is the starting point of all YM studios. The Orchard Flagship Studio is the ultimate reflection of how the brand has grown, as well as the space it holds in the lives of over 100,000 YM members. Created almost as an antithesis to the tranquility of the traditional yoga studio, the YM space exudes a sense of vibrance, comfort and warm intimacy. Think of it like your best friend’s tastefully designed apartment — drop in at any time, enjoy the stunning décor, and be welcomed with open arms.
YM members (affectionately known as YM FAM) can enjoy their classes in one of the studio’s three airy practice rooms — two with Hip Hop-inspired names as an ode to the brand’s identity that’s rooted in culture and music; and one that’s solely dedicated to the brand’s Teacher Training arm, YMTT200. Members can expect striking features such ascustom-designed wallpaper from local brand, Layer Play, as well as floor to ceiling windows. A long hallway adorned with a luscious tropical print takes members to the spacious changing room facilities, which include huge bathrooms you can run laps in, and a total of 11 luxurious showers for women and men. Other aesthetic details include Yoga Movement’s dreamy terrazzo walls and rustic terracotta brick tiles.
Following the success of the Grounded by Common Man Coffee Roasters concept at Yoga Movement’s Robertson Quay location, the brand is getting their own foot in the local coffee scene. Yoga Movement’s first-ever coffee bar created by the YM FAM, for the YM FAM makes up an integral part of the new studio. They are supported by long-time partner Common Man Coffee Roasters, continuing Yoga Movement’s ongoing collaboration with local culinary heroes to provide quality brews and fuel for the day — best enjoyed on their breezy patio overlooking the bustle of Orchard Road.

Alicia Pan is the co-founder of Yoga Movement, a yoga teacher with over 500 hours of training under her belt, and a former singer-songwriter. When YM opened its doors in 2012, Alicia had small aspirations: to deliver yoga to the people in a small-scale boutique studio. The demand quickly exceeded their first studio’s capacity and Yoga Movement swiftly grew into an iconic fitness-lifestyle brand with over 100,000 yoga enthusiasts clocking a whopping 25,000 visits a month, and six studio concepts under their belt to date — including their brand new Orchard Flagship Studio.

Citi Wealth Hub incorporates a thoughtful biophilic design that inspires conversations as Citi clients engage with their dedicated Relationship Manager and also a team of Product Specialists in one collective locale.
Citi Wealth Hub has a lush thriving indoor conservatory to host bespoke lifestyle events, investment workshops and more for its clients. It occupies an area of 30,000 sqft across four floors and has over 30 client advisory rooms, as well as flexible office and event spaces.
Previously known as Yen San Building, Citi Singapore had a branch on the very same premise at 268 Orchard Road from 1988 to 2005.

The new wealth hub is a key part of Citibank Singapore’s multi-year growth plan and evolving retail strategy, where Citi continues to serve customers’ simple transactional needs digitally together with a wealth advisory hub for deeper wealth conversations. Currently, nearly 90% of the bank’s retail banking customers are using digital platforms for their daily banking needs, while fewer than 1% of transactions occur in Citi branches.
Taking the necessary safe distancing measures and the “new normal” into account, an anti- microbial coating will be applied on all high-touch surfaces and safe distancing of at least 2 meters will be enforced. All rooms will also be disinfected after each use, and plexi guard shields will be installed throughout the wealth hub.

Crossing the Straits of Johor via a 25m-high bridge from Woodlands North Station (LRT) in Singapore to the Bukit Chagar Station in JB, the Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link will help to ease Causeway congestion, improve connectivity, foster people-to-people ties and generate shared economic and social benefits. The RTS Link will be a standalone Light Rail Transit (LRT) System with the capacity to serve up to 10,000 commuters during peak periods, for every hour and in each direction.
To facilitate a seamless travelling experience, there will be co-located Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities. Passengers travelling in either direction will clear both Singapore and Malaysia authorities at the point of departure, and need not go through immigration clearance again at the point of arrival.
The RTS Link is a 4km rail shuttle service between the Singapore terminus at Woodlands North station and the Malaysia terminus at Bukit Chagar station in Johor Bahru. It has a large capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction. Passengers will enjoy a fast and seamless experience travelling between Singapore and Johor Bahru on the RTS Link, and a journey time of about five minutes between the two stations. Furthermore, the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities of Singapore and Malaysia will be co-located at Woodlands North and Bukit Chagar stations, which means that passengers only need to clear the immigration authorities once, i.e. at their point of departure. When the RTS Link opens for service at the end of 2026, it will be a game changer that will significantly improve connectivity between Singapore and Johor Bahru and ease congestion along the Causeway.
The RTS Link Woodlands North Station will be constructed underground at a maximum depth of 28 metres. There will be three stories, with two basement levels and an underground linkway to the CIQ building. The Cantonese and Sichuan journey begins at the eye-catching entrance where one isimmediately drawn to the traditional Chinese ‘Shan Shui’ (landscape) painting within a fullmoon that depicts mountains, a flock of birds and a passing boat. This tranquil scene is framed by timbre panels cleverly placed to resemble the gradient of mountains. The moon also symbolises reunion, abundance and harmony. Most significantly, this restaurant is where loved ones can partake in a cosy gathering over an excellent meal. Dark wood furniture is complemented by splashes of bold colour on the walls, and vermillion ‘brushstrokes’ on the carpet.

Club 5's head bartender, Jun Han brings his expertise and love of putting a local spin to classic cocktails to the newly transformed destination bar, Club 5. This dynamic individual has over five years of experience in F&B, specialising in bartending. Armed with an insatiable appetite for learning, his knowledge of spirits, cocktails and avant-garde techniques – including his own rendition of spiced Rum and infused Tequila – is impressive. He relishes the opportunity to showcase a cocktail programme that proudly embraces the culturally rich areas of Beach Road, Kampong Glam and Bugis that surround PARKROYAL on Beach Road.
“Creating the perfect cocktail is not just about mixing spirits. It is a journey filled with curiosity behind the story of what makes each drink one of a kind. As a bartender, the best feeling is seeing someone’s face light up when they try something new or when they have finally found the drink” shared Jun Han. “I love experimenting and incoporating local flavours as it adds a touch of home and gives deep meaning to each drink. Ultimately however, the flavours have to be balanced to give an all-round delightful experience.”
Jun Han was the 2019 Campari Bartender Champion, representing Singapore in Milan, where he emerged among the Top 14. Other achievements include second place at the 2019 Remy Martin Barrel-Aged Competition, Top 8 at the 2019 Black Cow Vodka Competition and Top 8 at the Bartender Society Saint James SEA Competition.

In commitment to its new direction of using scents to heal, soothe and delight one’s mental wellness, homegrown fragrance brand, SIX, has launched a multi-sensorial boutique at 313@Somerset. Designed by local artists Clara Yee and Gerald Leow from In The Wild, the boutique is a representation of Founder, Jason Lee’s vision of creating a sanctuary for customers to take a break from their busy lives.
Covering a space of 550 square feet, the boutique is designed to enhance the customer’s journey through visual, audio and olfactory stimuli. The allure starts from the exterior façade of the boutique enhanced with SIX’s signature ambient scent to pique the interest of passers-by. As they step into the space, elements of the interiors emanate a gentle calming vibe, complemented with a curation of spa- esque music to lull them into a state of bliss. “We invite our guests to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy mall into our sanctuary; to take a breather, unwind and just be – in the moment,” says Jason.
Likening the interiors to that of a cave, Clara Yee, lead designer and Co-Founder of In The Wild, explains the design inspiration: “The space references the contours of a cave through a variety of textures and an earthy calming palette of natural materials. The ideas of wellness and care are displayed with the stucco walls of sandstone pink, pistachio greens and soft, rounded edges. The new SIX boutique is designed to be an intimate respite to soothe the senses.”
Zoned into areas of ‘consciousness’ and ‘memories’, the space is a hybrid of retail and homelike hosting experience, with art objects to discover throughout. Like a personal collection, each item within the space, from the textiles to the floating forms are like responses to memories and reflection. “To achieve harmony and bring positivity into our lives, we sometimes need to tap into our deeper senses. The artworks loosely reference Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, inviting us to be free from relying on just our five senses,” Clara expounds. The accomplished young designer and entrepreneur made waves when she was recognised by Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2016. Clara was also the artistic designer behind Singapore Tourism Board’s Singapore: Inside Out, an international multi-disciplinary showcase of Singaporean talents in the fields of design, music, literature, food and performing arts.

Since its inception in July 2016, SIX has been making strides within the scenting industry with an expanding collection of fine fragrances, DIY scent kits, and a home scenting range. From a humble collection of three scents (123 Tribeca, 1724 Puka and 27 ÌŠF Biei), SIX now boasts two product lines. They include the SIX home scenting collection of diffusers, nebulizers and pure essential oils, two additional scents (Eclat and 2065 UJONG), as well as a DIY scent kit.
On the commercial end, SIX has been undertaking ambient scenting, creating bespoke labels and conducting scenting workshops for luxury brand names such as Piaget, Lexus and Ritz Carlton. In 2019, SIX established its first standalone boutique at the newly revamped Funan Mall and was commissioned for its ambient scenting. The same year, the SIX product line was included in Singapore Airline’s Kris Shop catalogue. SIX was also commissioned by our national carrier to create a bespoke scent that was used on perfume tags boxed inside purchases. Later that year, SIX collaborated with Eu Yan Sang to create the world’s first Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perfume, using traditional herbs.

In 2020, SIX launched its second standalone boutique at Bugis Junction. In view of the work-from-home phenomenon following the Covid-19 outbreak, SIX created the uplifting, Awakening home diffusers, where ten percent of sales proceeds were donated to the Courage Fund by Community Chest. SIX also launched a new line of essential oils and disinfectant sprays. In November 2020, SIX partnered with the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) to raise awareness on mental health issues, with the creation of the Hikaru collection. Ten dollars from each product sold, with a total targeted amount of S$10,000, will be donated to the association in support of its ongoing efforts to help individuals with mental health issues.

A forerunner of Singapore’s much loved private dining scene, HolyCrab originally offered the unique experience of dining in Chef Elton’s abode, more than a decade ago back in 2009. And how better to get guests’ hands off their phones? Keep their hands busy savouring some awesome crabs! The playfulness of HolyCrab’s creations has delighted many more guests since its humble beginnings. HolyCrab offers bold, distinct flavours, forged by a fiery need for “WokHei” (breath of the wok).
