The new GrabKitchen Aljunied currently features more than 15 brands from a variety of F&B players.
The new kitchen is the 56th GrabKitchen regionally, making Grab one of the largest operators of cloud kitchen facilities in Southeast Asia.
With the commitment to support merchant-partners’ growth and provide consumers with high-quality food options, Grab started its cloud kitchen operations in 2018. GrabKitchen provides merchant-partners with more opportunities to increase their footprint and test new concepts at lower costs, while offering them with immediate access to Grab’s user base. It also provides merchants with new incremental sales channels through features like mix-and-match where merchants can reach a new segment of customers who do group ordering for their family or friends.
At 2,971 sqft, GrabKitchen Aljunied features eight kitchens and a small dine-in area. It will see a mix of merchant-partners who are new to the cloud kitchen model such as homegrown food chains Putien and Maki-san, Japanese Teishoku brand Yayoi, as well as returning ones who have seen success in their GrabKitchen Hillview venture including Playmade, Wolf Burgers and CarversX. Similar to the Hillview outfit, GrabKitchen Aljunied will also offer consumers a selection of drinks, as well as dessert and snack options.

Nexus International School is honoured to have been chosen by the government of Singapore to be a major part of maintaining the city state’s position as a global leader in education. Their new site on Aljunied Road, which is scheduled to be ready for opening in 2020, will be Singapore’s latest state-of-the-art international school and will be the flagship Nexus campus.
This project represents an investment of more than S$232m for Taylor’s Education Group (TEG), owners of Nexus International School (Singapore). Mr BK Gan, President of Taylor’s Schools, released details of the exciting development and stated “the new Nexus International School (Singapore) at Aljunied will be the culmination of a vision formed in 2007 within TEG to provide a world-class holistic education through the Nexus brand. We are delighted with the success of Nexus in Singapore, which is a testament to our dedicated and expert staff, our supportive parents and our wonderful learners.”
The new Nexus campus will have a capacity of 2,000 students, up from the current site capacity of 1,200 at Ulu Pandan. It will boast cutting-edge modern facilities with a strong environmental focus, an Innovation Hub, flexible learning spaces, numerous play areas, a large capacity theatre, music recording rooms, a state of the art sports field, a 50m Olympic-sized swimming pool, gymnasium and fitness centre. The site has been designed by renowned international architects Broadway Malyan who have produced a stunning architectural vision that embodies the ethos and values of the school, offers quality design, and which is also sensitive to local customs and culture.

From Sunday, 12 March 2017, some stretches of the existing Upper Aljunied Road will be permanently closed to traffic, as part of plans to transform it into Bidadari Heritage Walk. In tandem with the closure, a new realigned Upper Aljunied Road will open to traffic from the same day. With an additional lane in each direction, motorists can look forward to smoother traffic on the new road.
The realignment of Upper Aljunied Road paves the way for the pedestrianisation of the existing Upper Aljunied Road and the creation of a new Bidadari Heritage Walk that will preserve the rich heritage and memories of the estate. Lined with a canopy of mature trees, the 700-metre Heritage Walk will recount the history and stories of Bidadari’s rich heritage, including prominent personalities of the past.
