COURTS the leading retailer of home electronics, IT and furniture products in Singapore, recently unveiled its newly refurbished Ang Mo Kio store as part of its commitment to revitalising the customer experience throughout its physical store network.
The redesigned two-story store spans 35,000 sq ft and is the second largest store in the transformation roadmap after COURTS’ flagship Tampines Megastore, which was redesigned in November 2017. The transformation brings the Megastore customer experience to a 25-year-old store sitting in the heart of one of Singapore’s oldest neighbourhoods.
Level 1 displays the latest retail concepts by major brands and for the first time, Apple, Samsung and Huawei are unveiling full brand concept areas in the store, where recently launched gadgets Note 9, iPhone Xs and Xs Max are retailing, and the upcoming Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and iPhone XR will retail in a week to come when they are launched. While shopping for the kitchen, customers are now engaged in culinary delights by the new interactive cooking demonstration station with a regular line-up of cooking hosts. GURU, COURTS’ solutions provider, now has its owncounter on Level 1, inviting customers to consult in-house experts on repair issues, maintenance or smart link-up solutions for the home, and even trade-in and warranty services for their new gadgets.
To optimise the new space, the IT and electrical product range at COURTS Ang Mo Kio has been carefully curated to bring the latest and greatest in value. Customers can shop from the laptop and PC range, including new ASUS and Acer gaming concept areas, as well as the latest gaming models from the likes of HP, Lenovo and Dell. That sits next to the camera and wearables section, showcasing the latest in this trending category. COURTS’ TV range has a good mix of premium and entry-level models, including the latest OLED and QLED models on the market. From small to large home needs, homeowners can comfortably browse small home appliances as well as major white goods such as washers and air-conditioners.
Part of COURTS’ transformation of its furniture category, the partitions on Level 2 have been broken down to reveal the full space and showcase furniture in apartment and lifestyle settings. With today’s customers looking for a greater degree of personalisation, COURTS encourages self-browsing with its Customisation Wall, showcasing a range of fabrics and leathers for its made-to-order range of sofas. Design Studio, the company’s interior design and renovation solutions provider, has been refurbished as a three-room HDB showflat, offering shoppers visual inspiration as well as the option of packaging their renovation needs with home furnishing. A selected range of bedding from 10 leading brands offers all mattress sizes andcustomisable bedding options available at COURTS at a glance.
“While today’s shoppers are turning online to browse and compare prices, they still look to stores to provide the irreplaceable experience of great service that accompanies a satisfying shopping trip. Friendly advice from experts, complementary fix-it solutions, customisation options, inspirational showcases and fuss-free ‘click and collect’ – these have become part of the expectations of today’s modern, omni-channel shopper. Ang Mo Kio is the latest in our commitment to transform our physical shopping experience for Singaporeans. As our second oldest store at 25 years old, COURTS Ang Mo Kio has seen generations of shoppers and this redesign reaffirms our commitment to modern homeowners with great service at the best value,” shared Mr Ben Tan, Country CEO of COURTS Singapore.
