Epicureans, rejoice! Udon Kamon has just opened at Eat At Seven, Suntec City. The restaurant offers the widest range of udon broths in Singapore, including shoyu-based dashi, tonkotsu, house speciality Japanese spicy magma and tom yum.
“Kamon” refers to “family crest”, which is used in Japan to indicate one's origin, family lineage and status.
The restaurant imports premium bonito (katsuo fish) from Kagoshima that has been aged for at least two years. The bonito flakes are freshly shaved and used to make dashi broth as well as garnish. Udon Kamon will offer two types of shoyu-based udon broth. Available in spicy and non-spicy options, its tonkotsu broth calls for white miso and pork collar, and is cooked for eight hours.
Helmed by Executive Chef Kamogi Noriyuki, Udon Kamon specialises in sanuki udon, the most popular type of udon in the Shikoku region. Made with Japanese wheat flour, salt and water, the noodles are thick, squarish and have flat edges. At Udon Kamon, the noodles are freshly made on a daily basis.
Pushing the envelope with its unique, first-in-Singapore handmade pasta creations that are customisable, full of flavour and affordable, is Pasta Supremo! Located at Suntec City, Pasta Supremo is a casual go-to pasta haven and all about ‘owning’ your pasta.
The brainchild of founder Shawn Kishore, who is also the mastermind behind popular Taiwanese zi char (home-style cooking) restaurant The Salted Plum, Pasta Supremo was conceptualised with the simple intention of making “atas (high end) food accessible” by offering a varied price range – from $8 for a basic bowl of Haus Marinara pasta to $15 for the 300 Day Grain Fed Fatty Wagyu – and fast, friendly service.
Elaborates Shawn: “Pasta is such a universally-loved dish, and what better way for even more people to enjoy it than with a build-your-own concept that results in your pasta, your way. Whether customers go ‘budget’ or ‘ball out’, they can be assured of quality ingredients cooked with passion while boldly seasoned with creativity; topped off with an all-round fresh experience.”
To keep things exciting and deliciously creative, Shawn, together with Executive Chef Dannel Krishnan take great pride in creating new flavours regularly, firmly subscribing to the belief that ‘anything is pasta-ble!’
Apart from the signature build-your-own pasta bowls that are prepared a-la-minute, Pasta Supremo also offers a ‘supremo’ (and decidedly non-conformist) range of a la carte items such as ‘haus’ pasta, sides, ‘Stuff on Bread’ monthly specials and desserts.
Diners can get in touch with their pasta-nality as they choose from a generous selection of vibrantly-hued and naturally dyed homemade pasta, sauces and a range of toppings such as Burnt Miso Corn, Bak Kwa Jam, 24-month aged Parmigiano Reggiano, Confit Garlic Prawns, Wagyu Karubi, and Unagi.
Levelling up their pasta game, Pasta Supremo offers three types of fresh pasta namely Long, Short and Curly made and air-dried daily. Available in vibrant colours of yellow, blue, purple and black, the pasta is naturally coloured with ingredients such as egg yolk, blue pea flower, beetroot and activated charcoal. Velvety in texture, these pretty showstoppers are a testament to time and technique needed when making fresh pasta.

Alluding to the state of emptiness, Almost Famous at Chijmes was conceived to be a space to provide clarity to the experience. Adding nothing to influence and taking nothing away to distract from the emphasis of the subjects within the space. They wanted to push the boundaries of what defines how a craft beer bar should be.
Conceptualised with minimalism in mind, Almost Famous was designed to be an environment devoid of unnecessary aesthetics. Every detail from the design of furniture, tableware, menu board, and even the coasters was selected with careful restraint, to achieve simplicity in form and function. A concept that was further enhanced by the choice of basic shapes and monochromatic palettes in the overall aesthetics of the interiors.
They wanted this objectivity to be translated into nothing short of a memorable experience with the emphasis on the people, the food and the beers.
Almost Famous offer a selection of 16 beers on tap from popular breweries locally and beyond. Their curation of beers aims to introduce a wider selection of session-able craft beers as a gateway for regular beer drinkers to appreciate specialty beers and the unique characteristics of beers from small-batch breweries. Complemented by a smaller selection of premium craft beers with more robust flavours, from rich stouts, hoppy IPAs to seasonal limited edition brews.
Their rotational taps include beers from some of these craft breweries:
Brewlander & Co. (Singapore)
Pasteur Street Brewing Company (Vietnam)
Young Master Brewery ć°çșć€é ć» (Hong Kong)
Pirate Life Brewing (Australia)
Stone & Wood Brewing Co. (Australia)
Heretic Brewing Company (USA)
Pilsner Urquell (Czech Republic)

The historic Long Bar of Raffles Hotel returns fully restored and continues its proud tradition as the Home of the Singapore Sling.
The famous counter shines like new amidst decor that marries architecture and contemporary plantation-inspired motifs. Long Bar was located at Cad’s Alley in the early 1900s. At a time when improved rail and road systems brought rubber and palm oil plantation owners over to Singapore from Malaya every weekend, it was known as the ‘Rendezvous of Planters’. Not a formal bar, but rather tables placed next to another facing Bras Basah Road, it was a vantage point from which male visitors surveyed the procession of ladies.
The earthy decor of the two-storey Long Bar is inspired by Malayan life in the 1920s. The deep, rich colours and lush greenery transport patrons to the edge of a tropical plantation. In keeping with the relaxed atmosphere, guests are invited to brush peanut shells off the table and bar counter to the floor. This is quite possibly the only place in Singapore where littering is encouraged!
The Singapore Sling, widely regarded as the national drink, was first created in 1915 by Raffles bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. Primarily a gin-based cocktail, the Singapore Sling also contains pineapple juice, lime juice, curaçao and Bénédictine. Giving it the pretty pink hue are grenadine and cherry liqueur. Bartender Ngiam deliberately chose to give the cocktail this rosy colour.
Swing by the newly-reopened Long Bar for your glass of Singapore Sling today.
In the meantime, you can also say hello to your loved ones with a lovely Raffles Hotel - Singapore Sling digital postcard here.

In an age of novel trends, Tablescape - a brand new Modern European restaurant and bar located within the luxurious Grand Park City Hall - is a breath of fresh air.
Tablescape focuses on delivering hearty, comforting favourites that can be enjoyed time and again, paired with artisanal cocktails, and extensive premium wine and craft beer lists - all underscored by attentive, unobtrusive service; the Tablescape experience connects tradition and modernity in a truly beautiful setting.
The restaurant accords a neoclassical interior design style which features decorative Peranakan- style accent floor, pastel coloured chairs, and plenty of natural light through its floor-to-ceiling windows. At the bar, one can choose to lounge comfortably at the private sofa seats with warm cove lighting, or unwind with friends at the solid wood feature communal table that delicately connects the bar and restaurant. The interiors exude a quiet elegance, setting the stage for a cosy, relaxed time.
Fresh from his recent stint at The Carvery, executive chef Robert Chan has created a menu that is comfortingly nostalgic and showcases a timeless European repertoire, featuring starters like Steak Tartare, Veal Sweetbread, and Salmon Gravlax, with subtle updates that make the experience both familiar yet surprising. Take his spin on the Steak Tartare (S$24++), finely hand-chopped USDA beef - an example of impressive knife skills, carefully honed over time - mixed with the consummate red onions, gherkins, parsley and capers, is stacked with a crackly, battered poached egg, bringing a new dimension to the dish. The Veal Sweetbread (S$18++) is perfectly seasoned, pan-fried in butter; paired with an earthy ceps mushroom ragu and served in a delicately creamy pea soup.
For mains, the traditional lobster and fish pairing gets an indulgent upgrade with Prosciutto Ham wrapped Monkfish and Maine Lobster on Risotto in Armagnac Lobster Bisque (S$38++). Wrapped in a thin layer of prosciutto and pan seared, the monkfish is at once tender and substantial, plated up with butter poached lobster tail, and risotto in Armagnac bisque, where the Arborio grains are gently simmered in lobster broth and French butter, lending the dish a richer flavour. The Smoked Braised Black Angus Short Rib (S$30++) - browned and braised with red wine, carrots, celery, and onions for 8 hours in the oven, completely tenderises and soaks in all the delightful flavours of the sauce - is an all-time dinner favourite. Horseradish is pureed with potatoes to create a silky smooth, tangy side for the ribs and freshly roasted bone marrow completes the dish.
The gorgeous Dessert Selection from the Trolley - the restaurant’s take on guéridon service - brings a bit of flair and fun to round off the dining experience, featuring a rotation of house-made sweets including Spicy Mango, a mango mousse cake encased in a shell of white chocolate, bringing the heat with the addition of pink peppercorns; the Raspberry Lychee with Almond Cake, a tribute to the classic Ispahan, offers a burst of tartness from the raspberry and the light sweetness of the lychee in a single bite; and Camembert Cheesecake, which presents a twist to the traditional cream cheesecake, served alongside perennial favourites such as meringue, lemon tart, and more.
Chef Robert’s dedication to ensuring that each diner is brought on a journey through the classics, modernised with restraint, is evident through to the meal’s close.
