Middleton International School (MIS) is opening a third campus MIS West Coast in February 2022 to offer more families access to high-quality international education without breaking the bank.
Part of the EtonHouse International Education Group, Middleton started its first campus in Upper Bukit Timah in 2017 in response to the strong demand for affordable international schools among expatriate parents. In May 2018, it opened its second campus in Tampines to offer a through train pathway for families from early years to high school. Both campuses soon reached full capacity and currently have a waitlist at most levels. The Middleton brand has also expanded into Vietnam, Indonesia and China.
The third campus, Middleton West Coast, is conveniently located next to Haw Par Villa MRT station. Occupying three levels at 20 Harbour Drive, this new campus has a capacity of more than 500 students, catering to learners from Nursery 2 to Grade 5 (3 to 11 years). Fees are below $20,000 a year, excluding GST, which is far lesser than the S$2,500 average monthly fee at international schools in Singapore.
Relax over a cone or cuppa while taking in sweeping garden views. The namesake of Chef and Churner-in-Chief Michael Wilson’s beloved golden retriever, Mylo’s celebrates gathering with family, friends (and pups) over handcrafted gelato, homemade bakes, classic sandwiches and cheeky tipples. More than 20 seasonal gelati churned onsite and served in housemade cones, drowned in affogato or stuffed into toasted brioche are the order of the day. Furry friends devour homemade dog biscuits and pup-friendly popsicles as they beat the heat on Mylo's outdoor terrace.
Located at Garden’s by the Bay Active Garden, Mylo’s offers a tranquil green escape along the Waterfront Promenade. Sitting on a popular running and cycling route, the café has already proven a go-to pitstop to relax, rest and recharge. Floor to ceiling windows flood the glasshouse café with natural light enhancing warm wooden and rattan interiors. A striking turquoise gelato bar and a hot pink neon Mylo’s sign deliver flashes of exuberant colour, reflecting a playful space for fun, food and laughter. Sit indoors or bring your pups and dine alfresco on the outdoor terrace overlooking the garden’s lush greenery. Take your sandwich or cone to go and enjoy the scenic views of Marina Bay a short walk away.
A gleaming stainless steel gelato Pozzetti display takes centre stage at Mylo’s. The most traditional way of storing and preserving gelato, steel buckets with covered lids ensure the creamy consistency and integrity of the gelato is maintained with the contents kept perfectly tempered and protected from light and air within a sealed cold well. A nod to the craft of gelato making, iced delights are piled high into crisp handcrafted cones or vibrant cups using traditional gelato spades.
Lovingly made and churned onsite, their gelato tastes of nothing but the best quality ingredients, fresh fruits, nuts and purees. Mylo’s gelato sings of the pristine, natural flavours of its produce, sans additives and preservatives. Their proprietary gelato recipe begins with a base of French cream and high-quality milk that produces a deliciously clean, fresh tasting foundation for the ingredients to come.
Flavours change with the seasons but on any given day, select from over 20 varieties ranging from milk- based and alcohol laced gelati to light, bright fruit sorbets. “Coconut and Pandan” gelato showcase the flesh and water from fresh Thai coconuts, Amalfi bergamots feature prominently in our “Lemon” Sorbet and 66% Valrhona Chocolate form the rich, deep and dark notes of our classic “Chocolate” gelato.
Fancy your tipple frozen? Mylo’s serves up 5% alcoholic gelati. Dive into the “Margarita”- a melange of lime juice, tequila, sugar and salt or opt for the “Jasmine Oolong and Passionfruit” gelato brightened with a dash of sparkling prosecco.
Named after Chef and Churner-in-Chief Michael Wilson’s, Golden Retriever, Mylo’s was conceptualised as a dog-friendly space where he could bring his own pup to work. Furry friends are treated to pawfully good pup-friendly snacks that include everything from home baked Pumpkin & Oat and Peanut Butter & Honey dog biscuits to Chicken & Beef Bone Broth and Yoghurt & Mango popsicles. Your first dog biscuit’s on them and water dishes are available for furry friends while they relax on their alfresco terrace.

The revamped Sustainable Singapore Gallery at Marina Barrage presents an overview of Singapore’s commitment to sustainable development. While there are exhibits that chart the milestones which brought about the high quality living environment Singaporeans enjoy today, the focus in many parts of the Gallery is on the challenges ahead and the steps people in Singapore need to take together as a nation to keep the country smart and green.

As Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay turns 15 this year, the national performing arts centre will be adding a new venue to its stable, enabling it to create more unique Singapore stories and shared experiences for society through the arts.
To be completed in 2021, the new building situated along the Esplanade Waterfront will feature a flexible theatre which can seat about 550 people and an outdoor activities plaza integrated with popular dining outlets at the Esplanade Annexe.
This waterfront theatre hopes to inspire our young and nurture the next generation of artists, by commissioning and producing more new works by Singapore artists and companies and taking them from home to the world stage.
With the new 550-seat waterfront theatre, Esplanade will be able to:
Develop and present a wider range of quality arts programmes for schools that inspire and challenge the young; develop in future generations empathy, curiosity and creativity; and provide them new perspectives on different cultures and our society.
Allow Singapore’s promising community, youth and traditional arts groups, especially in theatre and dance, to take that next step to reach a wider audience along Esplanade’s busy waterfront.
Work closely with both Singapore and regional artists to create new works and to take these artists and works beyond Singapore.
Present a greater diversity of leading artists and productions that inspire, given that, a majority of works produced today for major arts festivals are for a medium-sized space.

Parc Olympia, Loyang's latest development finds its way into Flora Drive.
Named after the famous Olympia (in Greece) no less, the site of the first Olympic Games, this site is right next to the Japanese Primary School, Palm Isles and Hedges Park Condo all the way east in Loyang.
Apart from swimming pools, a tennis court and a gym, you will see some really interesting facilities that are rather rare. Things like a badminton court (that also serves as a function room) and a full size basketball/futsal court. There is also a synthetic jogging track. And also a large putting green - 20m by 15m (or 300sqm).
Situated on the very far eastern end of Singapore, Parc Olympia is just one of the many low-rise new condos launched in this area. The land bounded by TPE, Flora Road and Upper Changi Road North is home to a slew of new condos.
