When the new National Skin Centre (NSC) opens in 2022, more patients can look forward to seamless access to specialised dermatological care. The 10-storey building will increase its current clinic capacity, by 50% to 69 consultation rooms, to meet rising demand for outpatient services.
Currently, NSC sees over 80 per cent of the overall outpatient dermatology attendances in the public healthcare institutions.
The new NSC which will be located at the NSC’s current Novena site, will house a Day Treatment Centre which will bring together diagnostic, monitoring and treatment services at one location, making access to care by patients, especially the elderly or less ambulant patients, more convenient.
There will also be a dedicated Education Centre for patients as well as caregivers. They will find useful resources and information on self-care and how to manage various skin conditions effectively. Making such resources readily available will help raise more awareness on the importance of good skin care and empower patients & their caregivers to take charge of their health.
To strengthen NSC’s role as a Centre of Excellence for clinical and translational research, its enhanced research facilities will include laboratories dedicated to non-invasive skin imaging and skin physiology. Other laboratories will facilitate studies on skin health issues prevalent in the local population, and support the conduct of a wider range of clinical trials for new therapies and treatments for common skin diseases.
As a tertiary healthcare institution, NSC’s enhanced research and education facility will spearhead clinical innovations in dermatology, train more dermatologists and healthcare professionals & raise awareness on skin health among the population.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) has appointed Timbre Group as the managing agent for the Yishun Park hawker centre. Timbre Group’s proposal was selected following the evaluation of the five proposals received for NEA’s call for tender for the management of the hawker centre made in February 2017. The proposal by Timbre Group showed a strong emphasis on social objectives, had various productivity measures, and comprised innovative solutions to ensure the vibrancy of the hawker centre. Timbre Group was set up in 2005, and they have a wide experience in the local food and beverage industry.
NEA has been exploring various alternative management models for hawker centres by engaging socially-conscious operators as managing agents. The experience of these operators in food and beverage operations, as well as property and lease management, can help improve the operational efficiency of hawker centres. They can also help enhance the dining experience at hawker centres while ensuring good quality and affordable food. Socially-conscious operators may also be more flexible and better able to provide centre-specific solutions to address issues which vary from centre to centre.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has announced the completion of construction for its new passenger terminal building, Terminal 4 (T4). The next stage of development will be focused on its interior fittings, as well as preparing it for operations as the terminal will open in the second half of the year.
Construction work on the new terminal, located at the southern end of Changi Airport, commenced in early 2014. In addition to the two-storey passenger terminal building, the construction involved the development of two multi-storey car parks providing 1,700 parking spaces, a two-storey taxi holding area, as well as three vehicular and pedestrian bridges spanning across Airport Boulevard to create new channels of access to T4.
A 68-metre high ramp control tower has also been constructed to enhance air traffic controllers’ management of aircraft movements in the apron and taxiways around the terminal. Completed in under three years, the T4 project involved over 4,000 workers at the peak of its construction works.
For the first time at Changi Airport, T4 will see a terminal-wide implementation of fast and seamless travel (FAST) initiatives to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency. The preparatory works in the lead-up to its opening will involve the installation and testing of key airport systems and processes including the new FAST self-service and automated options covering check-in, bag-drop, immigration clearance and boarding.
There will also be training and familiarisation programmes organised for airport staff and partners, to prepare them for operations in the new terminal.

At 11,400 square feet across two floors, the store is DFS Group’s largest single retail space for wines, spirits and tobacco. The opening of the store marks a milestone in DFS’ leadership and innovation in retail, and the realization of a new vision for retail at Changi Airport.
Designed by Masamichi Katayama, the award-winning interior designer and founder of design firm Wonderwall, the store showcases the luxury retailer’s full assortment of wines, spirits and tobacco in a visually dramatic store environment and façade inspired by flowing water and undulating shapes. Within the store, warm and modern design elements accentuated by a double-height atrium measuring over eight meters high provides an inviting shopping and tasting environment for travellers.
Amongst the store’s most innovative features are expanded common areas designed especially for lifestyle and cultural experiences. This includes a Raffles Long Bar – in collaboration with one of Singapore’s most historical landmarks, the Raffles Hotel - the ground-floor atrium tasting bars and a private lounge.
