In year 2022, residents of Bidadari estate will be able to enjoy a new regional park. This announcement was made by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Bidadari Park is a multi-agency collaboration between HDB, national water agency PUB and the National Heritage Board (NHB).
The 10-hectare Bidadari Park will feature a lake, a 700 metre heritage walk, a 6-km experiential trails and a play area for children.
Apart from retaining of more than 350 mature trees in the area, the park will also be welcoming more than 2,000 new trees.
“At strategic locations, observation decks, viewing sheds, and pavilions will serve as tranquil rest spots for visitors, offering different views of nature in a rustic and naturalised setting,” said HDB.
Oasis Terraces in Punggol is Singapore's first new-generation neighbourhood centre.

New waterfront district in Punggol to open, with over 2,000 new flats to be launched in August.
HDB announces 2 Build-To-Order projects in Punggol Point, their latest waterfront housing district, at the upcoming Aug sales launch. The design of the ‘Green Heritage District' will embrace technology and nature, while paying tribute to Punggol’s history.
The projects - the 940-unit Punggol Point Woods and the 1,172-unit Punggol Point Cove - are expected to be completed by 2023.
One of the key features of Punggol Point is a new heritage trail along Old Punggol Road, once the main transportation route for farmers and fishermen plying their wares from Punggol to Serangoon.

Tengah Town embodies Housing & Development Board's (HDB) vision for new towns of the future - green, sustainable and smart. The first HDB town to full intergrate with its surrounding ecosystems, it will also be the first to have a car-free town centre nestled next to a lush green park.
Guided by HDB's Smart and Sustainable framework, Tengah will offer some 42,000 residential dwelling units, providing new living opportunities in the west to meet housing needs.
Around 1,500 HDB flats will be the first to be launched in November this year at Tengah, the first new town in more than 20 years.
When it is fully developed in two decades, Tengah could comprise 42,000 new homes: 30,000 units of public housing and 12,000 units of private housing.
And when completed, Tengah will grow to about 700 hectares, which is roughly equivalent in size to Bishan Town.
Tengah was conceptualised as a unique town in Singapore and as the country's first "Forest Town" with a green theme spread across the district.
From Sunday, 14 January 2018, three new roads in Bidadari estate will be partially opened to serve the upcoming developments in the estate. The new roads are Bidadari Park Drive, Alkaff Crescent & Woodleigh Link
With the opening of the new roads, three new signalised junctions will also be commissioned in the area to regulate vehicular and pedestrian movement.
Among the three new roads, Bidadari Park Drive road is a major road that will serve as the main transportation spine of Bidadari. It will eventually traverse the full length of the new estate, from Bartley Road to Upper Serangoon Road, serving residents throughout the estate.
Running alongside Bidadari Park Drive is Bidadari Greenway, which extends from the northern to the southern end of the estate. Featuring lush greenery, the 1.6km-long Bidadari Greenway will form a “green spine” connecting the housing developments to the Bidadari Park. It will be lined with rest spots, commercial and social communal facilities, creating opportunities for more community interaction. Pedestrian and cycling paths running through the greenway will also enable residents to walk and cycle seamlessly in the estate.
The Build-to-Order project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021. The project was planned and designed by the HDB’s in-house team of planners, architects and engineers, It is also one of 18 HDB projects to have been designed with roofs that will allow for fast and easy installation of solar panels.
Woodleigh Glen boasts three levels of green community spaces (urban verandas, community farms and butterfly gardens) and a 200m-long sky terrace on the 10th storey. The sky terrace contains sheltered pavilions for birdwatching in the direction of Bidadari Hill Park.
From Sunday, 12 March 2017, some stretches of the existing Upper Aljunied Road will be permanently closed to traffic, as part of plans to transform it into Bidadari Heritage Walk. In tandem with the closure, a new realigned Upper Aljunied Road will open to traffic from the same day. With an additional lane in each direction, motorists can look forward to smoother traffic on the new road.
The realignment of Upper Aljunied Road paves the way for the pedestrianisation of the existing Upper Aljunied Road and the creation of a new Bidadari Heritage Walk that will preserve the rich heritage and memories of the estate. Lined with a canopy of mature trees, the 700-metre Heritage Walk will recount the history and stories of Bidadari’s rich heritage, including prominent personalities of the past.
The Punggol Town Square is the second of the new-generation town plazas to be completed by HDB, after Bedok Town Square. Well integrated with transport facilities such as the Punggol MRT station, and with shopping, dining and other facilities at Waterway Point, the town square is an ideal place for the community to come together. What distinguishes this new-generation town square from other social spaces is the “software” aspect, where residents’ involvement is key to keeping this space vibrant and active.
Overlooking My Waterway@Punggol, the 1,620 sqm Punggol Town Square has a standing capacity of 1,000 persons. It offers vantage views of the water and is part al-fresco and part-sheltered, to allow for activities to be held regardless of the weather. A 280-seat F&B outlet, Starker Q, located within the town square, will open its doors in Apr 2017.
The newly opened Punggol Discovery Cube, located next to the town square is the first visitor centre within an HDB town which showcases the evolution and development of Singapore’s first Eco-Town.

Our Tampines Hub will be Singapore’s first-ever integrated community and lifestyle hub that brings together multiple agencies to offer a comprehensive and diverse range of services, programmes and facilities. This project is led by People’s Association and is located at the former Tampines Stadium and Tampines Sports Hall.
Motorists at Changi Village have been enjoying the Housing Board's (HDB's) first new mechanised carpark since last December, as an alternative to patiently waiting for a lot at the open-air carpark in the area.
Built at a cost of $10 million, the new Mechanised Parking System (MPS) has helped to nearly double the number of available parking lots at the popular foodie haunt from 183 to 304.
The carpark is fully automated and allows vehicles to be transferred to available parking spots across a five-storey building.
In order to park, motorists need to drive their cars into one of four car lifts, before switching off their engines and locking their vehicles behind them.
They then punch an eight-digit PIN code in a computer terminal outside and the MPS automatically parks the car once the lift door closes.
Cars are retrieved by entering the same PIN code.
Peak period wait times to retrieve each car ranged between 10 and 15 minutes. It is open to residents for season parking, as well as for visitors at the same parking fees charged at regular HDB carparks.
