The National Parks Board (NParks) has opened the 5.4-hectare Cyclist Park, a new recreational space at East Coast Park. Featuring a longer view corridor of the marina vista, Cyclist Park boasts two new cycling circuits targeted at learners and experienced cyclists, a nature playgarden and F&B and retail outlets for families.
Located at Area D of East Coast Park, at the previous site of Goldkist Chalets, Cyclist Park is an active node, complementing the tranquillity of the nearby Raintree Cove that opened earlier this year. A one-stop hub for cyclists, visitors can practise cycling techniques at the two cycling circuits, as well as purchase and repair bicycles. It is also a stop along the Round Island Route (RIR).
The two circuits - the Learner Circuit and Advanced Circuit - are conducive spaces for cyclists to hone their skills. Beginners can attempt the 280-metre long Learner Circuit, where gentle slopes, large expanse of flat areas, and a mini BMX adventure trail help improve balance and stamina. The 500-metre long Advanced Circuit, with its undulating tracks, sharp turns, gradual granite steps and narrow bridge, provides a fun challenge for more experienced cyclists.
Open plazas with multiple entry points have replaced what was once the gated Goldkist Chalets and visitors can now enjoy unobstructed views of the sea. Visitors who seek a more tranquil experience can soak in the coastal ambience while lounging on terrazzo benches under the shelter of ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.) and handkerchief trees (Maniltoa browneoides). There are also two F&Bs, one convenience retail store and a bicycle retail shop that also run bicycle related workshops as well as repair services.
Families with children can enjoy a new nature playgarden at East Coast Park within the Cyclist Park. The playgarden uses natural materials such as upcycled wood to create curated play features for children to engage in spontaneous play amid nature. Young ones can develop a sense of discovery and train their balance at the simple obstacle course, and older children can try their hand at the 1.5-metre tall mini climbing wall installed with grips, that was fashioned from a log.
The opening of Cyclist Park marks the completion of the second of three phases in the rejuvenation of East Coast Park, which aims to create more open spaces and vistas of the sea, improve accessibility and enhance amenities. This follows the successful reopening of Raintree Cove earlier this year. The enhancement will be completed in 2020 with the opening of Big Splash.
Cyclist Park is located at East Coast Park Area D and is accessible via East Coast Park Service Road, via the underpass linking Mandarin Gardens to D3 Carpark and via Siglap Park Connector. The nearest bus stop is 90 metres away and is served by bus number 401.

Qantas has officially opened its newest First Lounge, a luxury space spread over 1,000 sqm at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
The new First Lounge will operate in tandem alongside the airline’s existing International Business Lounge, providing capacity for 240 customers and a bespoke offering for Qantas’ First Class passengers and top tier frequent flyers.
The new build was designed by Australian designer David Caon in collaboration with Kelvin Ho of architecture and design firm Akin Atelie and features a number of Singaporean influences across the look and feel of the lounge as well as the food and beverage offering.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the opening of the new lounge is a reflection of the airline’s extensive premium investment in the region.
“Since our A380 flights have returned to Singapore, we’ve seen an increase in demand for premium travel which has also translated to an increase in the number of travellers enjoying our lounge hospitality.
“This is our fourth Qantas First Lounge, and each time we build an entire new lounge facility from scratch, we speak to our frequent flyers to get a better understanding of how customers like to spend their time in the lounge and tailor it accordingly. Our customers told us their key priorities when travelling through or from Singapore is space to relax and do some last-minute work, a quick shower, and a meal before departure so they can maximise their sleep onboard.”

An open kitchen will serve up a Rockpool a la carte seasonal menu designed with Singapore’s vibrant dining culture in mind.
The lounge also features a cocktail bar with lounge seating, serving French champagne, seasonal spritzes, unique cocktails inspired by Singapore, like a Calamansi Mojito – made from the local Calamansi fruit, Singaporean and Australian beer – and a variety of Australian wine. View Singapore First Lounge Menu here.
Non-alcoholic healthy beverages such as kefir and kombucha, barley water and a Rockpool ‘House Lemonade’ are available, along with all day barista service with Vittoria coffee and a selection of savoury bar snacks and fruit.
Wellness continues to be a major inspiration and the new Qantas First Lounge brings the outside in. Live greenery features throughout the lounge to soften the space and bolster the atmosphere, while the use of natural materials and colour palettes is designed to help relax customers.
A unique faux ‘skylight’ in the shower suites and lounge area will replicate natural daylight and help adjust the body clock as customers transition through multiple time zones.
Business travellers have the choice to work in an open, communal setting or individual lounge chairs with high dividers. USB and charging ports are located throughout the lounge, with wireless printing, Wi-Fi and TV screens for customers to stay charged and connected.
The new premium space is Qantas’ fourth First Lounge across its global network, joining Sydney, Melbourne, and Los Angeles. The opening is part of the multi-million-dollar investment for customers on its Singapore services and complements the expanded Qantas International Business lounge at Changi, which combined now offers seating for more than 800 customers.

Climate change is anticipated to worsen the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue. It facilitates the spread of mosquito vectors, viruses and epidemics. There is thus a need to continually innovate and design sustainable solutions to deal with these environmental public health challenges. Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) has established a new, highly automated facility that will allow researchers to eventually increase their production capacity of Wolbachia-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquitoes by more than 10-fold, compared to its previous production facility.
This boost in capacity is critical for NEA’s plans to scale up Project Wolbachia – Singapore, in preparation for future deployment of the novel vector control technology. The new facility, located at Techplace II in Ang Mo Kio, was officially opened on 2 December 2019 by Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR).
NEA’s Project Wolbachia involves the release of male Wolbachia-Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to suppress the urban Aedes aegypti mosquito population. Aedes aegypti is the primary vector of dengue, chikungunya and Zika in Singapore. When the released male Wolbachia-Aedes aegypti mosquitoes mate with urban female Aedes aegyptimosquitoes that do not carry Wolbachia, the resulting eggs do not hatch. Over time, continued releases of male Wolbachia-Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are expected to bring about a gradual reduction in the urban Aedes aegypti mosquito population, and hence lower the risk of dengue transmission. Read more about this project here.

With eight nourishing souvlaki grain bowls, customers can choose to enjoy these combinations within a traditional pita, or in a hearty salad. All grain bowls, salads and toasty pita wraps are assembled à la minute for maximum freshness.

Souvlaki (souv·la·ki·a) – the popular Greek street food of small pieces of meat or vegetables grilled on a skewer, is the highlight of Supergreek’s menu offerings. Supergreek’s modern spin on this Greek specialty consists of tender cuts of meat, fish and vegetarian options accentuated with quintessential herbs such as oregano and dill, as well as tomatoes, onions and Greek vinaigrette, then grilled, roasted, or steamed, but never fried.
“At Supergreek, we follow traditional Greek cuisine which is predominantly plant-based, and focused on lean meats, seafood and heart-healthy olive oil that is also fresh. Whether your diet is plant-based, keto, low carb, pescatarian, high-protein, or if you are just curious about eating better, we have some amazing options for you that will help you in your search for the holy grail of sustainable healthy eating: nutritious, delicious, affordable and repeatable.” Hsin Yao elaborates.

The new showroom, joining the ones in Milan, New York and Moscow, is a modern, elegant location designed on two levels. Its open-space interior is conceived to display the best-sellers of the Group's brands (Floor Gres, Rex, Casa dolce casa – Casamood, Cerim, CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia and FLORIM stone) through installations enhancing the large slabs' potential and technical performances.

The Singapore investment is part of a clearly defined strategy of establishing ties with the main architecture firms, promoting the use of large slabs and above all raising awareness of Florim's "beauty" and "style" worldwide. This flagship store will be followed by other openings in 2020, also in the hearts of the world's design districts.
An innate passion for beauty and great determination have led Florim to challenge clichés, succeeding in transforming what everyone calls tile into an element of design. A history of almost 60 years, rooted in the ceramic district of Sassuolo (MO), combines with an international trendsetting present thanks to the leadership of Claudio Lucchese and a high-range product recognized in markets all over the world.
For them, “Made in Florim” is a guarantee of quality, innovation, Italian know-how and particular attention to corporate social responsibility.

Having achieved the world’s top sales record amongst their hundred stores globally, Taiwanese fried chicken emporium owned by celebrity Nono - Monga, is excited to launch their second outlet in ION Orchard Mall this November. To embrace festive cheer, Monga will also be rolling out their special Christmas-edition flavour, the Fiery Chicken Fillet, for a limited time only.
The new Mexican flavour, priced at S$7.90 per fillet, will be exclusively available only during this Christmas. Sure to sate the appetite of fried chicken lovers, this fiery chicken fillet is first deep-fried and then covered with Mexican sauce before it is baked for two-minutes. The Mexican sauce is a secret formulation curated in-house with tomatoes, jalapenos, chillies, onions, and pepper, giving the snack bursting flavours that are sour and mildly spicy at the same. This distinctively red sauce coincides with the eponymous colour of Christmas. Available only from December 1st till 26th, this will be a time-limited flavour in both ION and JEM.

Following an ambitious rebranding exercise, homegrown Italian restaurant and bar operators The Cicheti Group has transformed the 1,500 sqft of prime F&B space along South Beach Tower’s retail piazza that previously housed popular modern Australian restaurant Fynn's into Caffe Cicheti. This marks the third Cicheti concept to join the group’s cohort of beloved Italian outfits, which include rustic chic trattoria Cicheti (2013) in Kampong Glam and contemporary pasta bar Bar Cicheti (2018) off Keong Saik.

At this modern-day osteria, fresh, bright flavours found up and down the coasts of Italy are served up at their uncomplicated best. By delving further into these coastal traditions, where tastes are characterised by their lightness and simplicity using the freshest ingredients that embody life along the shores, chef co-owner Lim Yew Aun expands on his culinary affinity with Italy’s diverse foodscape beyond Venice and the broader Mediterranean that’s underpinned his heartfelt brand of cookery since the first Cicheti. Best enjoyed with sommelier-partner Ronald Kamiyama’s curation of quality, quaffable wines that are fun, juicy and approachable—and a special emphasis on non-alcoholic beverages for the discerning non-drinker. The setting, dreamed up by restaurateur Liling Ong and Amsterdam-based interior designer Simone Königshausen, reimagines Fynn’s foliage-filled aesthetic with a fresh coat of dark emerald paint, light tropical prints and charming, bistro-style patio seating, lending a new lease on life to an intimate space that now inspires dining both day and night.

“We had such a good run with Fynn’s and made so many amazing friends along the way. On the other hand, we’ve established such a delicious goodwill with the Cicheti brand, and finally found our way with wines when we opened Bar Cicheti last year. We created Caffe Cicheti not to take away from what Fynn’s has built, but to continue building its legacy as part of the Cicheti family,” explained Ong, who first set up Fynn’s together with her cousin Aun in 2016, three years after they opened the first Cicheti.

By 2023, national servicemen will be able to access all their National Service (NS)- and training-related activities in a one-stop centre.
The NS Hub just marked the start of construction in a groundbreaking ceremony officiated by Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen recently.
With the NS Hub, national servicemen will no longer have to report to various camps across Singapore for different NS services.
The new NS Hub will house the Central Manpower Base (CMPB), Military Medicine Institute (MMI) and a new Fitness Conditioning Centre (FCC) to meet all the services that pre-enlistees and Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) need.
It will even include an e-Mart for NSmen to stock up on their combat boots and admin t-shirts!
Currently, pre-enlistees attend medical screening at CMPB at Depot Road, and head to MMI in Kent Ridge for other specialist medical services. NSmen take their Individual Physical Proficiency Tests (IPPTs) at various locations such as Maju Camp and Bedok Camp.
Once complete, the NS Hub will be directly accessible via an overhead bridge from Cashew MRT Station along Upper Bukit Timah Road.
Gone are the long queues to "book in", as national servicemen visiting the NS Hub will be able to register themselves at e-Kiosks equipped with facial recognition technology. They will also be able to perform digital transactions through the NS Hub visitor mobile app and receive personalised responses about their appointments. Such technology is expected to reduce the overall waiting time for medical screenings by 30 per cent!
IPPT will be made more convenient for servicemen. Without having to "book in" to camp, servicemen will be able to do automated In-Processing at the NS Hub’s FCC. They can then simply walk up to the gym for their IPPT Preparatory Training or head to the sheltered running track to take their IPPT. Facing the Rail Corridor, the FCC will be the Singapore Armed Forces’ first purpose-built, all-weather facility for IPPT and fitness training.
Not unlike SAFRA Clubhouses, the NS Hub may well become a go-to spot for national servicemen to relax with their family and friends. The hub will feature a wide range of amenities that are open to the public – these include a food court, a childcare center and an outdoor community area with a running track and football field. For those into live entertainment, the NS Hub will also house the Power 98 Love Songs and 88.3JIA radio stations where visitors can catch their favourite radio DJs live on air. There will also be studios for the public to catch performances.
Visitors to the new NS Hub will be glad to know that the building will make use of renewable energy – energy generated from its solar panels can power more than 110 4-room HDB units a year! The building will also adopt energy-saving solutions such as the use of natural ventilation and solar shades for cooling. The NS Hub will make use of rainwater harvesting to collect non-potable water for irrigation and other purposes.

The first Nam Dae Mun flagship store in Singapore is set to open on Saturday, 30 November 2019, at 313@somerset, in the heart of Orchard Road for both local residents and international visitors.
The Shanghai-born brand now has over 300 stores across China, is apparently famous for their hour-long queues when it was first launched in 2016. Consumers are willing to queue for its traditional yet tasty Glutinous (sticky) rice cake and Osmanthus rice cake - which are freshly cooked and made from natural ingredients.

Named after Namdaemun, one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall of Seoul in South Korea, the Korean-style rice cakes are chopped into small pieces after the dough is rolled out.
The local flagship store also offers Maoshan Durian Glutinous Mochi made with the AAA+ grade of Mao Shan Wang durian. Known for its rich and creamy taste, the delicacy can be enjoyed on its own, or paired with other popular offerings for a complete dining experience.
Ms Freya Wang, Executive Director of Herme Pte Ltd (Singapore master franchise) says, “We are honored and excited to open the first Nam Dae Mun global flagship store in Singapore. Besides the popular varied selection of korean-style rice cakes, consumers here will also be able to get their first taste of HERME's signature drinks and desserts”.

National Gallery Singapore was established in 2015 as a leading visual arts institution overseeing the world’s largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art. Guided by its curatorial vision to present the art histories of Singapore and Southeast Asia; reflexively (re)write the art histories of Singapore and Southeast Asia; and examine these art histories in relation to the global history of art, the Gallery has developed a significant collection of artists’ archives and a reference library focusing on Singapore and Southeast Asian art.
The Gallery’s Rotunda, located at the heart of the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery (Level 3, Supreme Court Wing), is a site of historical importance. During the building’s former life as the Supreme Court of Singapore, the Rotunda served as the Law Library. Housed in this historical space, the Rotunda Library & Archive extends the memory of this site while serving a new function as a research hub for the study of art history in Southeast Asia.
The Rotunda Library & Archive aims to be a leading library housing one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of Singapore and Southeast Asian art-historical resources from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.
Their collection currently holds over 20,000 physical and digital items, including rare publications, exhibition catalogues, ephemera and digital archives, made possible through generous donations, publication exchanges with various art institutions in the region, and partnerships with the estates of Southeast Asian modern art pioneers, such as Georgette Chen and Lim Hak Tai (Singapore), S. Sudjojono (Indonesia) and Kalaw Ledesma Foundation (the Philippines).
Most archival acquisitions are conducted through loans or donations from the archives’ owners (artists, artists’ families, estates and art communities). The Library & Archive preserves the donated physical archives and digitises loaned archives.
A large selection of materials in their Library & Archive collection is searchable here (You will be redirected to their Collections Search Portal). Due to copyright restrictions and levels of permission from the archive owners, some items are only available for viewing onsite. One of the most popular denim brands in the world, Evisu was founded in Japan in 1991 and is named after the Japanese god of prosperity, Ebisu. Initially only around 14 pairs of jeans a day were created, each one caringly hand-painted with the now famous seagull logo.
Evisu captured the imagination of the detail-obsessed Japanese fashion crowed and spurred a revival of interest in vintage denim which spread around the world. Today Evisu has gained critical acclaim, as one of the ultimate denim must haves, is internationally known and embraced by both collectors and hipsters alike. Evisu was initially more a labour of love than a commercial venture and despite phenomenal success. Evisu's mission to create the highest quality products has remained unchanged. This underlying value defines Evisu’s position as an icon in the history of denim wear.

Since launching as a shirt specialist in Glasgow in 1988, Ted Baker has quickly become one of the UK's leading fashion retailers.
From the beginning Ted has had a very clear, unswerving, focus on quality, attention to detail and a quirky sense of humour, so much so in fact that the first stores used to provide a laundry service for every shirt purchased – something that gained the quickly growing brand the title of ‘No Ordinary Designer Label’. Everything produced under the Ted Baker name has his personality woven into its very heart.

Savoir Beds has launched its first Southeast Asian boutique at the Raffles Arcade. Savoir make fewer than 1,000 luxury handcrafted beds a year because they’re focused on making the best, not the most.
With over 14 global showrooms, from London to New York, Paris to Shanghai, Savoir’s mission is to provide every customer with the most comfortable and stylish bed imaginable. From the required support to the style of the home, dimensions, materials and fabrics can all be personalised. Beds for superyachts, headboards inspired by architecture and bespoke prints; anything that can be imagined can be made.
The Savoir story began in The Savoy Hotel, when in 1905 impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte unveiled an establishment revered for it luxurious creature comforts and legendary services. With no bed meeting his pioneering luxury standards, D’Oyly Carte set about creating one. The result is still made today, Savoir N°2 (the Icon) and the spirit of its creation governs Savoir’s approach to every bed it creates.
Skilled craftsmen work intently at individual oak trestles; the tapping of tacks, material in motion and calm conversation between colleagues. These are the Savoir Bedworks in West London and Wales, the antithesis of a production line. There are no hulking machines, just craftsmen hand-making a bespoke bed from inception to completion. Every bed is bespoke, from custom comfort to design details, made and signed by one master craftsman for one customer.

Ramen Champion is proud to announce that it will now house Gyumaru at its Bugis+ enclave. Gyumaru is the first ramen restaurant in Singapore to serve Gyukotsu Ramen (beef bone ramen), which is a rare dish in the ramen world.
A riff on the popular tonkotsu, the fully emulsified broth of the Gyukotsu Ramen boasts a clear consistency and a pronounced piquant flavour of beef fat. Relish the palate-enveloping note of the beef broth, which is made with beef bone and oxtail. The entire preparation takes two days to complete — the broth is first boiled for nine hours, before it is cooled and refrigerated for it to set into a thick and flavourful concentrate. Each beef broth cube is then simmered over low heat before it is served.
The broth is accompanied with springy thin noodles custom-made from a local Japanese noodle making specialist — for the doneness, there are two options to choose from: soft and hard. Thick tender cubes of well-marbled ribeye sourced domestically from a halal-certified supplier are placed atop the ribbons of al-dente noodles. Other ingredients including green onions and Japanese leek contribute delicate notes to the overall dish. Top the dish with the optional coriander for a local twist and additional fragrant lift!
Gyumaru is in the process of receiving its Halal certification — Muslim gourmands can very soon enjoy non-pork ramen!

What started as a playful game of word between Anne-Jean and Panagiotis, the owners of House of AnLi at Tanglin Mall, resulted in the name of their culinary adventure: Pano Kato.
Pano Kato means in Greek – Panagiotis’s mother tongue – upstairs downstairs. Thus referring to House of AnLi store & bistro upstairs and House of AnLi & Pano Kato downstairs in Tanglin Mall.
The Greek origin of the words Pano Kato refers to the Mediterranean cuisine that is served in all it’s simplicity.
Simple, unpretentious, pure are key words in Anne-Jean’s and Panagiotis’ taste for delicious home cooked style food using great ingredients from the Mediterranean.

Introducing Yanmi Yogurt's Chewy Purple-Rice Yogurt Drink, a nutritious and guilt-free alternative to Bubble Tea. The iconic yogurt drink with pearl-like purple-rice bits has taken China and Sydney by storm, with fans queuing up to five hours for it. You will be able to taste the same delicious beverage from their Singapore debut store at Funan from 26 October.
Yanmi Yogurt uses fresh yogurt made with Australian milk, and their purple rice is imported from Mojiang Hani Autonomous County (Mojiang). The milk are produced by cows that are raised on pollution-free grassland pastures. The purple rice from Mojiang is known for its premium quality — with strict selection of the grain, it is prepared through ten industrial steps, including continuous process of soaking, boiling, filtering and steaming under careful temperature manipulation (75 degrees) and time control for over five hours to create the perfect sweetness and chewiness. The rice bits are refreshing and add a nice crunch to the velvety drink. Touted as the king of rice, purple rice is rich in vitamin B1, vitamin B2, folic acid, protein and more.

Nearly 25 years have passed since Mario Moretti Polegato, founder and President of Geox, conceived of the revolutionary solution of piercing the rubber soles of his shoes to allow his feet to breathe during a trip under the hot sun of Reno, Nevada. Why not create a product that maintains the flexibility and strength of rubber soles, whilst also providing excellent levels of transpiration and breathability?
On his return, Moretti Polegato developed his flash of intuition in the workshop of a small footwear company owned by his family and developed a new technology for rubber soles. He patented it immediately and created the first “breathing shoe”.

With the closure of its flagship tze char eatery at Hillview Avenue in June this year leaving fans scrambling into the city for their New Ubin fix; an upscale restaurant in the city centre CHIJMES cluster and a hotel restaurant in Zhongshan Park didn’t feel quite the same. Plans were already set in motion by its proprietors, the Pang family, to find a new space that could house the brand’s signature tze char eatery concept. The components were unique to its plight – an amalgamation of years of moving around oft offbeat locations, most famous of which were its Sixth Avenue, Sin Ming Industrial Estate and its latest Hillview Avenue incarnations.
The formula is as bewildering as it is exact. An off-the-beaten-path location accessible at best by car, far flung from the city and tucked away into the forgotten crevices of Singapore. It’d count the likes of paint shops and auto- repair businesses as its neighbours, and its cuisine best enjoyed in a nondescript outdoor canteen setting that has no business serving choice rib-eye cuts, kaya toast on baguette with French butter, or premium Bordeaux in Riedel glasses – but do so anyway. Here, New Ubin’s brand of rustic roots and kampong essence, which it serves its ‘Truly Singaporean’ cuisine with, fares exceedingly.
Today, that recipe has been exacted to a tee, and with all previous moves, comes with its own set of upgrades. Located on the ground floor of Space@Tampines, a commercial property along Tampines Industrial Crescent flanked by furniture showrooms and inflatable air dancers, is the 5,700 square feet New Ubin Village. The proposition is a canteen cluster that houses seven stalls, three of which its own concepts—including its back-to- basics tze char eatery New Ubin Tampines and a brand new incubator stall programme, New Ubin Test Kitchen—all enabled with modern-day technologies that allow guests to order and make cashless payments directly from their table without having to call for a physical menu or bill. A third concept is currently underway and will be announced at a later date.

Our Second Nature is a clothing brand that focuses on comfortable, everyday wear. As part of each collection, they work with an in-house designer to create a unique print that sets the tone for the collection. Through each print, they wish to convey an unspoken energy, inspired by the highs and lows of everyday life.
They believe that clothes are personal and transformative, and this is what they design their collections around. Their inspiration comes from the sum of all the things they like, and all other things intangible such as slow walks in the park, the smell of fresh linen and more.

Kin is a restaurant in the lobby of Straits Clan that serves heritage cuisine by Chef Damian D’Silva. The menu is a retrospective look at the origins of their cuisine, showcasing traditional cooking methods, recipes and ingredients that have been left behind. Paired with an inspired beverage offering and genuine hospitality to complement the simple joys of sitting around the dining table with loved ones.
As a young boy, Damian D’Silva’s love for cooking was nurtured by his chef grandfather, whom he affectionately called “Pop”. Some of his fondest memories of food were of Sunday dinners where he sat around a dining table with family and friends. He also recalls a time where dishes were not constrained by culture or racial identity, but rather an amalgamation of recipes brought from foreign lands. Reproduced with locally foraged ingredients and subsequently interpreted by different individuals from diverse cultures, resulting in an incredible colourful culinary patina.
With Kin, Damian endeavours to marry his love for feeding people with his life’s work of preserving heritage cuisine and knowledge of local ingredients, for the generations to come.
Much of the food preparation process involves components that are laboriously handmade from scratch in-house, or procured in limited quantities from a network of traditional makers that Damian has nurtured lifelong relationships with. Some dishes are only available in cadence with a micro-seasonal calendar established through decades of observation by local producers, fishermen and the people who work with them.
Their food is served in a communal format, they believe a mutual sharing of food is an essential part of the dining experience that encourages kinship. While they have a selection of vegetarian-friendly dishes, they are regrettably unable to accommodate other dietary allergies and sensitivities as their dishes are recreated as true to their original heritage recipes as possible.

Trattoria Pizzeria Logic, a well-established authentic Italian restaurant chain from Japan opens their first Singapore restaurant on Craig Road.
Trattoria Pizza Logic is best-known for their naples style cuisine that uses fresh ingredients, such as flour imported from Caputo in Naples.
Pizzaiolo Junichi Shoji, who is the winner of the prestigious Napoli Pizza World Championship 2012, an annual global contest to determine the world’s best pizza makers, is responsible for designing the pizza recipes. This makes Trattoria Pizza Logic the only restaurant in Singapore to have a World Championship Winning Pizzaiolo supervising its kitchen.
Co-helming the kitchen is Grand Chef Atsushi Terashima, who acts as the creative force behind the restaurant’s menu. Chef Atsushi Terashima was trained in Tuscany before he cooked in various restaurants across Italy. This experience has allowed him to pick up authentic Italian cooking techniques and create new dishes to add to Trattoria Pizza Logic’s mouth-watering menu.

Previously known as Shelter for Men-in-Crisis, Transit Point on Spooner Road is New Hope Community Services' (NHCS) shelter for male former offenders.
The new location near Outram Park MRT station has a range of new facilities and room for up to 60 residents.
Transit Point is funded by the Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises, a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The shelter's previous location at a rented bungalow in Punggol could cater for only 20 to 25 residents.
The Shelter for Men-in-Crisis began operating in 2003 and provides temporary housing to ex-offenders. These ex-offenders might have been rejected by their families for various reasons or not have a conducive home environment for their return. NHCS believes in giving them a second chance and assisting them to rebuild their lives, so that they can reintegrate into the society. At the shelter, the duration of stay is 3 months. During this period, the Case Managers will work with the residents to develop an Individualized Care Plan focusing on their employment and long term or permanent housing solutions.

Taikoo Lane Hotpot, is a restaurant that doles out authentic Sichuan and Cantonese hotpot broths and offerings! The concept is a brainchild of Chengdu Restaurant, which is known for its mouth-watering Sichuan cuisine. Taikoo Lane boasts a mixture of individual pots and large shared pots, so solo diners or large groups can enjoy a hotpot session anytime they have a craving.
Taikoo Lane’s version of the Sichuan Spicy Broth follows the traditional method of using beef tallow instead of oil. The beef tallow-based mala broth is much more flavourful than the oil-based renditions other hotpot restaurants in Singapore serve.
Chengdu Green Pepper Broth is another Taikoo Lane special Mala broth. Taking inspiration from Chengdu Restaurant’s best-selling Fish with Green Peppercorn Soup, the green peppercorn broth is a brand-new offering specially created by the Taikoo Lane team. Peppercorn oil and green peppercorns are Sichuan specialities, and the restaurant imports the ingredients from the province.
For diners who prefer non-spicy broths, there are offerings available such as Fish Soup Broth with Fresh Milk and Collagen Nourishing Pork Bone Soup. Both of these soups will appeal to ardent appreciators of Cantonese dishes. Able to alleviate the symptoms of excessive dampness in the internal system of our body, the nourishing fish soup broth is made with specially selected fresh fish and salmon bones. The gelatinous pork bone broth is superbly tasty and moreish — a medley of pork bones, whole chicken, pig skin and spices are cooked for over seven hours to achieve a rich and milky consistency.

Taikoo Lane offers a smorgasbord of unique hotpot ingredients. A DIY dish, the Lobster Noodles pays tribute to Hong Kong’s popular version. Simply immerse the crustacean and noodles into the broth, then mix the cooked items with the special sauce and condiments and voila! If so inclined, cook the seafood and noodles separately in different broths so that they can soak up different flavours for a truly unique dish. Living up to its name, the Magical Growing Mushrooms promises a culinary spectacle. Arranged artfully in a garden of lettuce, tomatoes and eggs, the enoki mushrooms will grow taller before your very eyes as you water it!
