Century Square in Tampines, which is managed by AsiaMalls Management Pte Ltd will close for one year to undergo a major S$60 million makeover. It is expected to reopen by second half of 2018.
The oldest of three malls in Tampines central, this facelift project will be the mall's first major renovation since it opened in 1995.
The 216,055 sqft mall will have 218 shop units. One of its anchor tenants is lifestyle grocer Mahota Market. It will take up about a third of Basement 1 and will feature a booth for freshly bought items to be cooked into meals such as steaks and pastas.
Another anchor tenant, cinema operator Filmgarde will introduce a new “3D immersive sound technology” across its six new movie halls, which will seat nearly 1,000 people in all.
The largest mall in Northern Singapore will open to shoppers in the fourth quarter this year. Developed by Frasers Centrepoint Singapore, the mall is part of Northpoint City, the largest integrated development in the North, housing over 400 retail and dining outlets across two retail wings.
When completed, the 1.33 million square feet Northpoint City will also include the 920-unit North Park Residences, community spaces, an air-conditioned bus interchange and an underground retail link with direct access to Yishun MRT Station.
Northpoint City is expected to serve as a lifestyle, recreation and integrated transportation hub for over half a million residents from Singapore’s northern region.
