AV Intelligence is all about entertainment systems. More than that, they are about the moment when you are so drawn into a listening or home-cinema experience that an uncontrollable smile forms on your face, all the noise in your life simply fades away, it’s just you and the music or the movie. When you have the right products, expertly set up, high-end AV can make you feel all of the above. Like the roar of a Ferrari when you push the accelerator to the floor, or the first sip of a great Bordeaux, or the moment when Mount Everest finally comes into view, framed by a perfect blue sky. High-end AV can be magnificent.
Louder, sexier, sharper – kyÅ V2.0 – will be souped up with a spanking new system of a reconfigured dance floor; robust lighting and sound enhancements; additional furnishings; and of course, a bigger, sleeker DJ booth, elevating the music that pounds from the sophisticated American-built EAW sound system, breathing life onto the dance floor.
It's S$400,000, week-long facelift, which has been in the planning for a year, will transform and reinforce kyÅ as the choice clubbing destination, along with a conducive bar atmosphere. And, staying true to its founding spirit, it remains to be the only dance club in the metropolis that regularly features musically progressive artists (djs, producers and live acts) from around the world, including Singapore
The MARCH 2015 RELOAD & RECHARGE basement club will feature a total of five new programmes to a total of 15 music nights, from Wednesdays to Saturdays. Four new residents – Haan, Zig Zach, Michael and Titus – will join the stable of four other kyÅ long-time names, bringing to a total of eight residents.
The club has also commissioned visual artist and designer Lucus Burrows to produce original digital visual works, followed by another series of graphic installations in collaboration with Heineken.
More directional. Better coverage. Warmer. That is what one can expect from its revamp from the enhanced electro-acoustics at kyÅ, which is adding four more EAW subwoofers to its existing set-up; more tops (speakers); and two more amplifiers stacked up in a cabinet at the new DJ booth, to beef the sound and power. All these add to the improved coverage within the club, alongside lighting enhancements.
Trace is a new multi-sensory club, bringing something unique to the clubbing scene in Singapore.
Its name is conceptualized to anchor a guiding path for a new community of club-goers and party people. As a physical translation of this "path", Trace placed emphasis on its lasers, light shows and premier sound system to establish itself as a premium VIP bottle service club with the full dance experience.
Within its compact lounge seating layout, you will enter in a experiential black box of surprises; multi-dimensional architectural light shows, pulsating 3D projection mappings, programmed LED outlining lights, in-built smoke machines and top-of-the-game surround sound speakers.
Trace's interior decor and lighting effects are designed by Director Bu Shukun, who runs Architology Interiors Pte Ltd.
The club is 2800 sq ft with 7 VIP booths that line the perimeter of the space. A centre island of 6 sofa tables is set amidst a circulatory loop of mingling space for you to party around.
A prominent DJ console is anchored with a full 3D projection mapped wall. Within the symmetrically-laid out club, the 3 dance catwalk platforms provide full visual connectivity around the space. Premium alcohol bottles line the bar display, promptly served with dazzling light shows to various VIP tables.
Think local, go global - Taking over the space formerly occupied by Scoop, TAPOW is a bar and street food joint under the care of Singapore's award winning bartender Zac Mirza from Bartistry.
A much cozier vibe with low-lying couches and a lived-in living room look. Expect reinterpreted local flavors like beef rendang burgers, tau pok (tofu stuffed with cucumber and bean sprouts in peanut sauce) and tiffins of ayam penyet, spring rolls and buffalo wings.
Drinks are equally Singlish so don't be surprised to find ingredients like kaffir lime. Each Friday, the crew of Kilowatt Soundsystem also comes to lay down some catchy beats, Ann Siang Hill style.
