Following their well-received retail debut in Singapore, Moncler's second boutique here is currently brewing and is set to open in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands sometime in Q1 2019.
The origins of the name lie in its very roots: Moncler is in fact an abbreviation of Monestier-de-Clermont, a mountain village near Grenoble. Here, in 1952 inspired entrepreneurs René Ramillon and Andrè Vincent founded the Company which would go on to produce the renowned down jacket.
In the beginning Moncler only made quilted sleeping bags, a single model of a lined hooded cape and tents with a telescopic structure and an external flysheet. These robust, functional articles immediately proved a hit with the public, as the new social phenomenon of mountain holidays began to take hold.
The first down jackets were conceived to protect workers who wore them over their overalls against the cold, in the small mountain factory. French mountaineer Lionel Terray first noticed them and foresaw their potential. The ‘Moncler pour Lionel Terray’ high performance collection was born.

The maritime theme continues with five dinghy-inspired booth seats in the front of the restaurant and the walls are decorated with different creatures of the deep like whales, dolphins, fish, crabs, squid and starfish–giving diners the feeling of dining under the ocean!
The seating capacity of this cavernous restaurant totals an astonishing 350 and also consists of several private rooms and a function room.
KWANPEN was founded in 1938 in Singapore by Master Craftsman Mr. Kwan Pen Seng, who designed and crafted handbags mainly for British aristocrats in Singapore. It has grown into an international luxury brand specialising in crocodile leather handbags and accessories.
It has also expanded from its Singaporean roots to span across Europe and the rest of Greater Asia with boutiques in London, Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Macao, Bangkok, Seoul, and Tokyo.
This June, they will re-locate their current outlet at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands which carrys their women collections, from level basement 1 to basement 2.
Proudly handmade in Singapore, KWANPEN crocodile leather handbags have always been associated with prestige and magnificent craftsmanship.
Every KWANPEN creation that bears the KWANPEN handmade logo is a stamp of assurance for impeccable quality and detail, representing the true distinction of a luxury creation.
Given the difficulty of working with crocodile leather, each of KWANPEN’s craftsmen are required to undergo a rigorous apprenticeship program. Apprentices study under the watchful tutelage of a Master Craftsman bearing over 20 years of experience, before they are allowed to work on the difficult leather.
Each KWANPEN handbag goes through a minimum of 30 man-hours to craft, highlighting the outstanding craftsmanship that surrounds every single creation emerging from the KWANPEN workshop.
