Located on the waters with spectacular views of Marina Bay, Kinki Restaurant + Bar starts a new chapter.
Ten years on, the sumo is now a geisha. Following a revamp, this urban Japanese dining concept now exudes a countercultural vibe and a reimagined experience, lifestyle and attitude.
Inspired by the antics of a rule-bending geisha, Kinki seeks to offer the legendary hospitality of the traditional geisha while allowing diners to let their hair down, all the while enjoying creative food and drink. Kinki does this with popular Japanese comfort foods reinvented into addictive new classics; and a bar list of liquids from East and West, including unique cocktails built on foundational cocktail-making techniques woven with Asian influences in surprising and unexpected ways. Kinki engages the senses with two levels of space – a restaurant and an al fresco rooftop bar. Diners socialise and unwind amidst immersive graffiti-style artworks by leading local artists evoking an edgy yet sophisticated ambience. Kinki fuses tradition and unconventionality for a new way of living; and wants you along for the ride.
Kinki occupies the two levels at Customs House, a conserved building built in the 1960s for the Singapore Customs Police. Enter the lift whose doors and walls are covered in various retro Japanese prints stitched into a dizzying collage. Designed by local design studio, Punkt Creative, the prints evokes Kintsugi, the old Japanese art of mending broken pottery by joining the fragments with capillaries of gold. With their design, it begins your escape from the everyday.

GrabFood has unveiled their merchant solutions and 1st GrabKitchen in Singapore.
GrabFood commits to merchants’ growth through a merchant platform and launches GrabKitchen in Hillview with over 10 F&B brands, including 3 virtual restaurants and the latest GrabFood Hub.
Based on consumer surveys and insights derived from the Grab app, consumers in Northwest Singapore wanted greater variety of healthy foods, burgers and local foods. Specifically in Bukit Batok, bubble tea, mala, and soup were not only the most frequently searched for items on GrabFood, but also saw significantly higher consumer demand than merchant supply. When it comes to cuisine types, Japanese, Indian and Thai were the most sought after in the area.
To address this gap, GrabFood brought an eclectic mix of over 10 F&B brands into its first GrabKitchen in Singapore, offering a wide selection of food options. GrabKitchen features:
10 restaurants including three new virtual restaurants namely Lady Boss Mala by the founder of Thai Dynasty; Waboru by JR Group as well as Tiffin Walla by Co-Kitchens.
The 6th GrabFood Hub which brings popular hawker food, coveted FMCG and packaged food brands such as Asia Pacific Breweries’ Heineken and Tiger beers anddangerously addictive salted egg snacks by Irvins, which has taken Singapore and the larger Southeast Asia by storm.
Beverages by Playmade, one of Singapore’s bubble tea darlings who has made its first foray into the West with GrabKitchen.
Consumers in surrounding Hillview districts such as Cashew, Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak and Toh Tuck can have food and drink options delivered on-demand to their door via the Grab app, while those who do not mind taking a short walk to GrabKitchen can opt to dine-in at the location or choose the self pickup option in-app to save on delivery fees. For variety, consumers can order from multiple GrabKitchen merchants in a single order so every one gets to have whatever tickles their fancy. Find out more about the launch og GrabKitchen here.
