The Monarchy Cocktail Bar & Ultra Lounge at 56 / 58 Tras Street offer a long-awaited, permanent and spiritual home for the wildly popular Monarchy nights that were acclaimed for playing host to both Royalty and celebrities alike on the rooftop of OUE Bayfront. The Monarchy is the brainchild of nightlife veterans, Robbie Hoyes-Cock, the CEO & Founder of the world's most glamourous Formula 1 weekend after-parties The Podium Lounge; and Steve Yallop, former Executive Director of Pangaea at Marina Bay Sands, who have been organising star-studded high society club nights in Singapore since 2005.
Set in a heritage shophouse spread over 3,600 square feet in the heart of the CBD, this quintessentially British cocktail bar exudes understated luxury and bears a distinctly regal theme, celebrating the Royal Houses of Normandy to Lancaster and Tudors to the Windsors.
Helmed by General Manager Rob Scott, former Group Beverage Director of Burnt Ends, Meatsmith & Rogue Trader, The Monarchy offers a carefully curated menu of timeless cocktails through the ages, and will introduce a new cocktail list quarterly, enabling guests to take multiple journeys through the history of Great Britain's most popular tastes and tipples of the day.
The opening cocktail list “Cool Britannia” is named in celebration of the modern, outward-facing Britain of the 1990s and the period of increased pride in the giddy cultural fantasia of the United Kingdom – the name itself a pun on the title of one of Britain's most patriotic songs, ''Rule Brittania''.
In a tip of the hat to Britain’s constitutional monarchy, guests enter the premises through a front door that is identical to the iconic home of the British Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street.
On weekends and eve of public holidays from 10pm, as the night builds up and the lights go down, the music starts pulsing and The Monarchy’s dazzling ultra lounge space comes alive as the entire venue transforms into one club. A hidden door at the end of the 8 metre long cocktail bar swings open to reveal a dark and intimate boudoir lined with leather Chesterfields and dancing platforms, where guests can party with the best house music DJs and live celebrity acts.
The 7 VIP tables named after British icons: Sir Winston Churchill, Dame Helen Mirren, Audrey Heburn, Amy Winehouse, George Michael, John Lennon and Hugh Grant; provide a home-away-from-home for those who crave a more sophisticated and private, late-night experience.
The Monarchy has brought together what is possibly the best bar team in Singapore, bringing unprecedented experience from many of the island's most acclaimed venues: 28 HongKong St, Employees Only, 1880, Lulu's, Pangaea and The Cufflink Club to name a few.
The Royal Jesters look forward to entertaining you at The Monarchy soon. God Save The Queen!

The seating area offers luxurious and indulgent fabrics, provocative and memorable artwork and comfortable, intimate lounging areas for private conversations. Elliot James of Elliot James Interiors was commissioned to design both spaces inside AVRY.
Singapore’s latest nightclub, AVRY, is now open at Millenia Walk. Made up of two distinct areas, including an immersive day space and cocktail bar called ‘Hairy Canary’, AVRY brings the ultimate clubbing experience to the Lion City.
AVRY operates on every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday and the nightclub will play host to some of the most progressive nights in Singapore, with the 6000 sq foot venue set to bring a whole host of new features, not only exclusive to the Singapore scene, but to the entirety of South-East Asia, alongside a string of yet to be named international performers.
With the DJ booth taking center stage, four oversized birdcages (which double up as VIP areas) will form additional focal points inside the club. These four main birdcages surround the dance floor and are flanked by a statement three-meter wide DJ booth. Connected LED screens, wrapping around the entirety of the DJ booth and the 16 VIP tables clearly define the dance floor.
A Dom Perignon VIP Lounge Booth – the first of its kind in the region – will illuminate the opposite end of the club, using its iconic green bottle display. To the right of the booth sits an eleven-meter long bar, positioned directly in front of the dancefloor.
With audio and visual facilities custom-built for the site, AVRY will also be state-of- the-art in every sense. On the audio front, Void Acoustics, who have set up sound systems everywhere from Eden (Ibiza) to Omni (Taipei), will be installing their ground-breaking Air Tri Motion series in the main room. Located directly over the dance floor, Air Motion provides huge sonic impact as well as being a significant visual attraction. Boasting a truly innovative clubbing experience, AVRY will become the first club in South-East Asia to host the formidable set up.

Since its inception in 2014, All That Jazz Dance Academy has provided students of all ages with a high standard of artistic dance education to inspire and foster excellence in the arts. At its studios in Forum The Shopping Mall and Winstedt Road, students are offered a wide variety of popular dance classes like Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Mommy and Me, Musical Theatre, Acro Dance and Twinkle Tots.
Vicky Lee Ward, Director of All That Jazz Dance Academy, started the academy out of her desire to share her deep passion for dance with others. She wanted to provide a safe and loving space, where students can learn dance and feel at home in the studios. To Vicky, dance is not just a super fun activity, but also one that can transform lives by building character, discipline and confidence.
The academy has grown significantly with students ranging from two-year-olds to adults, all united by their love for dance. The decision to open a second studio was made as it was getting pretty full at its Forum location. The space at 10 Winstedt Road was chosen due to several reasons – the spacious studios, the lush surrounding greenery, the cozy feeling of the community at Winstedt and the convenience of the location as it is close to Newton MRT station.
Compared to the Forum branch, the new studio at Winstedt Road boasts larger studio spaces. The comfortable waiting lounge is also much bigger, and there are a lot of new classes offered at Winstedt.
With their recent expansion, All That Jazz Dance Academy hopes to continue to inspire more dance students with positive experiences in its studios, with the teachers and staff members. Ultimately, All That Jazz plans to collaborate with more dance institutions and the entertainment industry to provide their students with more opportunities to pursue dance at a professional level.
New students of the academy can enjoy a free trial class at its new Winstedt Road studio. For more information and to sign up, visit here.
