The simple childhood game of spinning a yo-yo on a string has evolved dramatically. Yo-Yo players now call themselves spinners and have taken spinning to new heights. Spinners now show off their talents to choreographed music and the entire spinning culture has assumed an edgy and hip status. Spinworkx has established itself as Asiaʼs specialist yo-yo retailer and is the exclusive local distributor of several leading yo-yo brands. A spinning crew from Spinworkx performed at last year's Youth Olympic Games and Spinworkx is featured annually at the Singapore Street Festival.

The store concept is inspired by i.t's Hollywood Plaza store at the heart of Hong Kong’s Mongkok. The very first i.t store in Singapore uses different woods to construct a variety of patterns, creating i.t’s signature edgy look. The façade features diamond patterns created by cherry woods and willows while the display window is accentuated with brass frames that add a cool rawness to the store. Unlike its Hong Kong counterpart, the Singapore store takes a refreshing approach. Extending the design theme of the store façade, wood is also used to exude a modernist shop interior. Different brands have different yet consistent themes for their own areas which showcase the DNA of each brand.

Designed by ONG&ONG this stunning house is located at Faber Park. The most attention-grabbing detail of this project is the dark grey metal cladding used generously on the external facade, which oozes with modern, edgy vibes. Its sharp and well-defined sides create a chic and unique face to this otherwise conventional family home.
To complement the edgy nature of the exterior, plenty of natural materials such as timber-teak and teak strips were used liberally throughout the entirety of the house, displayed tastefully on the walls, flooring or furniture.

A colossal, spiral staircase greets one in the immaculate interior, commanding a strong visual axis. This forms the focal point of the entire house.
Also, in line with an eco-friendly theme, a skylight was constructed in the basement, which enables natural sunlight to stream in and illuminate the house’s interior space while also keeping it warm on the occasional cold day.
