It all started with their love for fresh produce and food that’s cooked simply but perfectly and packed full of flavour. All pizzas are served with healthy lashings of greens. They began with the lovely "crackling" sound of something crunching in your mouth. The crust of hot roti prata and naan, the shattering of pappadums and the crispy thrill of crackers in yu sheng. They then thought, of making a pizza base that has all these textures and to make it as thin as possible, serving it up with healthy, yummy toppings.
Very different from a traditional pizza with its bready crust and heavy cheese. They top it with freshly cooked produce and flavours. Like freshly prepared tomato sauce, juicy strips of meat, prawns and squid that still tastes of the sea.
Their thin-ovative Skinny Pizza menu offers 21 scrumptious varieties. Among the favourites: the truffled mushroom, Mozzarella Bolognese, squid ink and a great ginger butter chicken.

Driven by his childhood love for pizza al taglio, the founder of The Pizza Slice Donato Mazzola became a pizza apprentice in Rome, Italy in 1985.
He learnt the traditional Italian recipe after years of hard work in several renowned pizzerias under the mentorship of pizza masters.
He moved to Singapore in 1997 and dabbled in a few restaurant ventures. However, he missed the taste of authentic pizza al taglio terribly.
When he realized that it would suit the market demands here, he opened his first pizza al taglio shop in Sixth Avenue in 2005.
Today, he continues to serve up pizza by the slice with passion and commitment and has just opened up The Pizza Slice at West Coast Plaza.
Their mission is simple: to serve the best Italian pizza by the slice and educate people to appreciate quality fast food in a casual and friendly environment.

Coming from Naples, Italy, Anna Borrasi Annamaria, developed her interest in the food and beverage industry at the early age of twelve. She realized her ambitions when she joined the family food and beverage businesses, which included two fast food restaurants, a discotheque, a hotel and 5 restaurants in 1976. She was a supervisor and was in charge of the supervision of the staff as well as the management of the restaurants. During those few years, she learned from the executive chef how to cook and design dishes as well as how to preserve food, both in the restaurant kitchen as well as in the pizzeria. She was also given the opportunity to work in a bar where she could explore and experiment with alcoholic beverages, from which she gained extensive knowledge and a greater appreciation of alcohols, in particular Italian wines and the peculiarities of liquors.
In 1983, at the age of 19 with the skills, knowledge and experience she had gained from working in her family’s restaurant business, she decided to set up her own traditional Italian restaurant in Canary Islands, Spain. Subsequently, she set up another two Italian Restaurants. These three restaurants served mainly wood fired pizzas, homemade pasta as well as imported cheeses and wines. After six years, she decided to move to Portugal and work as Executive Chef at Algarve Ltd, at Algarve. Two years later, an opportunity arose and she returned to Canary Islands, Spain and opened two restaurants La Piazzetta and Mamma Rosa. After operating them for a few years, she decided to sell them as going concerns. As the owner of these restaurants, she was responsible for their overall management, business direction and coordination as well as in their business development.
In 2000, she returned to Italy. As she was not familiar with its business environment, she decided to seek employment first and started off by working at Fior Fiore 2000 S.R.L, a wine house, which is located in Rome as Director of Sales. She was responsible for the communication and the maintenance of good relations between the company and its customers as well as the sales of wines in the company. As she was already well versed with Italy’s business climate by then, she decided that she should start her own business again and establish Corallo S.R.L. in Rome, Italy.
As a chef and restaurant owner, she has always relished plans to set up Italian restaurants in places outside Europe so as to spread the Italian food culture and enable more people to savor and appreciate authentic Italian fare. A chance encounter with Belinda Chua who is an established Singapore entrepreneur and Vlada Davidovic who is a known sommelier and wine distributor for a Singapore company, gave her the opportunity to understand and recognize the potential of Singapore as a suitable place to fulfill that ambition.

It wasn't long before she caught the attention of 5-star hotel, Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore and was offered a position in the pastry department, where she trained under the watchful eye of world-renowned French Executive Pastry Chef, Philippe Egalon.

When Desté was set up in 2008 to be the pastry arm of Garibaldi Group of Restaurants, management was so impressed by her that she was asked to join as Executive Pastry Sous Chef where she assisted Chef Stefano in overseeing dessert menus for Ricciotti, Desté's Retail & Boutique outlets as well as the group's other restaurants.
