The three main elements of graffiti art – tagging, throw-ups, and characters, fuse well with the lighting and the dulcet beats of Rebel’s resident DJs to create the perfect ambiance of a “meeting point”. An al fresco area offers the perfect respite for clubbers to sit back, chill out and watch the world go by.

The menu is conceptualized as a “black book” or a visual journal of an aspiring Hip-Hop cook. The food and beverages on the menu are named after key R&B or hip hop influences and interesting sketches of some items are present on the “black book”.

This spunky new club features a wide repertoire of music from popular Mandarin and catchy Korean, to funky Thai, trendy Japanese and contemporary English hits. Guests will also be roused to grooving good times with smooth mixes from the two resident Thai DJs (DJ Opx and DJ Love from central Bangkok) as well as future guest DJs from the region. For starters, COCO will play host to Brazilian DJ Masa on 17 December 2011 who will be spinning his unique ‘Masa Mixes’ of Korean pop. His love for Asian pop culture has inspired the young enterprising music producer /DJ to create mash-ups of Japanese, Korean and Chinese pop for an international audience (Pre-sale tickets at $30 are available at Mulligan’s and COCO; door tickets are priced at $38).
What’s more, COCO’s live music programme is boosted by energetic performances from its resident singers, comprising Eddie, Devin, Sasa, Aaliyah, and Penny. Accompanying them is the new four-piece resident band – Ammunition. The band and singers are supported by slick choreographed routines by a cast of Asian show dancers.

SMUDGEstore which has just opened up at Cineleisure is the flagship store that houses the in-house brand SMG, along with other labels such as Devilock, Brook Avenue, Greedy Genius, Rebel Scholar and Subcrew. SMG is a lifestyle label that recognizes the stressful moments and volatile nature of life and how one literally feels that he or she is "under gunfire" in life's daily grind. The name says it all: "Still Moving UnDer Gun firE", in short, SMG or Smudge. The label is the pure and simple expression of the concept, thus the acronym SMG. The word "Smudge" also takes on a special meaning for the brand as it reminds us of the endless daily wars we must fight in our lifetime against negative adversities that can so easily "smudge" our life's canvas. The brand states boldly for all to still move, despite being under "gunfire" with the hope, faith and strength to conquer all adversities that constantly try to "Smudge" our lives in this modern society. |
