Nu Artists Gallery are a small art gallery started by two persons' love for paintings.
Nu Artists Gallery aims to be a platform for emerging artists, a place for likeminded souls to buy affordable pieces and a chill out place for all who want to enjoy and create art.
Their current focus is on contemporary Burmese artists. Though Burmese art tends to be synonymous with religious subjects such as temples, monks and Buddha paintings in the minds of many; modern Burmese art is in fact far from homogenous. They have personally sourced the pieces, some from the private collections of their artists, to showcase a side of Burmese art seldom seen.

Worshippers of the Kim Eang Tong temple now have a fabulous new $6 million venue to pray to their gods. It shares a space with two other temples in the Ang Mo Kio Joint Temple in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 which has undergone a full year of renovations as part of an upgrade.
The money was spent on a three-storey building with panels of gilded woodwork and a hand-sculpted stone fence depicting tales of Chinese folklore. The other 2 temples, Hao Ling Gong and Long Shan Yan will open later this year. Each temple has its own space, the three occupy seperate halls beside one another within the complex.
Temple volunteers said the main deity, Kim Eang, was a Buddhist monk while another two 'masters' were a Taoist priest and a fairy. According to ancient folklore, the three were said to have met and become friends over 300 years ago. Hao Ling Gong and Long Shan Yan are Taoist temples whose beginnings also date back decades in the Ang Mo Kio area. The three came together under one roof in the 1070s when, forced to move becuse of a housing development in the area, their leaders bought a tract of land to build a humble one-storey building for devotees.
Altogether the three temples have have approximately 3,000 members. Construction of the new building began in January last year. Meanwhile, devotees of the three temples prayed at a makeshift tent a few blocks away, opposite Kebun Baru Food Centre.
Yueh Hai Ching Temple also known as Wak Hai Cheng Bio in Teochew, is a Chinese temple in Singapore, and is located at Phillip Street in the Downtown Core, within the Central Area, Singapore's central business district.
Yueh Hai Ching Temple is Singapore's oldest Taoist temple. It was constructed between 1850 and 1855, and was rebuilt in 1895. The temple holds a special significance for the Teochew community, whose way of life was closely associated with the sea. It is the only temple in Singapore to have stunningly detailed three-dimensional moulded ornaments on its roofs. Chinese Emperor Guang Xu presented a plaque to the temple in 1907.
Restoration works, slated to begin after Chinese New Year in February
2011, will be carried out on the Yueh Hai Ching Temple's entire
structure. Ngee Ann Kongsi, which owns the temple, will be committing $5
million to its restoration. During the renovation, the parying area
will be moved to the courtyard compound. The statues lining the roof
will be places in the gallery. The building's interior rosewood beams
have lost their joints and will be re-fitted together with bolts and
metal fasteners.
